A method of managing one or more clients in a computer system is also provided, where the clients have a client processor and a computing component installed on client. The computing component is independent of the client processor and is operable to selectively control the client. A network component is installed on the computing component. The method includes remotely controlling the client by communicating with the computing component through the network component utilizing a remote manager.

Abstract: A bun slicing device includes a conveyor belt for conveying buns over a table. At least a portion of the table provides a suction, which draws air through the buns. The buns are sliced while over the suction portion, so that air is passing through the buns as they are sliced. The suction holds the buns to the table and also holds the resulting bun sections together, such that the sections do not separate during slicing.

The gain equalizer includes a demultiplexer with each of its outputs interfaced to a different microelectromechanical system (MEMS) reflective device which adjusts optical power in response to a received control signal. The equalizer can be implemented to operate in a reflective mode or in a transmission mode.

Abstract: An affordable means of protecting a barn against fly infestation by trapping in a novel trap design predatory arthropods such as Carcinops pumilio and Macrocheles muscaedomesticae from another barn having a mature predator population, and transferring the traps to accumulations of manure which are underpopulated with the predatory arthropods. The predators self-release onto the predator-free manure and establish themselves, preventing fly infestations which would normally occur. The trap of the invention is a box-like structure, having a filter surface on one side which has openings large enough to admit Hister beetles and Macrochelid mites, but small enough to prevent the entry of hide beetles and litter beetle pests. Inside the box is an appropriate bait material which will attract the desired predatory beetles or mites, such as a slurry of housefly eggs in water spread on absorbent material. The traps are spread across a mature manure pile.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for monitoring software applications within a first processor during development thereof. A limited number of uniquely identifiable elements or "hooks" are inserted into the software application under development and each time an element is encountered during processing of that software application, the identity of the element and a selected data frame are coupled to the output bus of the first processor. A data output card is utilized to couple that information to a data collection card via a dedicated cable. The data collection card is then utilized to transfer the identity of each element encountered and its associated data frame along with a time value, to a second processor, which is utilized to record that data. In one embodiment of the present invention, a switched bank memory system is utilized in the second processor to permit high speed data storage.
