Abstract: In one aspect, a method includes pausing write I/Os for a second virtual machine running at a second site, generating a snapshot of a first virtual machine running at a first site after pausing the write I/Os for the second virtual machine, generating a bookmark for the second virtual machine, resuming the write I/Os for the second virtual machine after generating the bookmark, rolling a journal for the second virtual machine to a point-in-time of the bookmark and generating, at the first site, a second snapshot of the second virtual volume for the point-in-time of the bookmark using the journal.

Abstract: An apparatus for providing utility receptacles on a work surface. The apparatus has a housing structure having a pair of sidewalls, a rear wall, a bottom section and a top section that is attached to the sidewalls. The top section includes a central section and at least one bendable tab extending from the central section to a distal end. The central section has at least one opening therein that is sized and shaped to receive a utility receptacle. The central section has a transverse slot along which the bendable tab can be bent with respect to the central section. The bendable tab can be bent 90° with respect to the central section. The bendable tab has at least one transverse slot along which a first portion of the bendable tab can be bent with respect to a second portion of the bendable tab.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer program products, for processing search query suggestions. In one aspect, a search service provides query suggestions responsive to a query suggestion request from a client device, and determines if a prediction criterion is met. The prediction criterion is independent of a user selection of a query suggestion provided in response to one or more query suggestion requests. In response to determining that the prediction criterion is met, the search system provides search results to the client device. The search results are responsive to one of the query suggestions provided in response to the query suggestion request or one or more previous query suggestion requests.

Abstract: A computer keyboard holder has a wall angulated at a predetermined angle. A built-in shelf is offset from the front side of the wall and has a horizontal base that is angulated from the wall. The horizontal base has a top surface for storing objects. The built-in shelf has a back that is perpendicular to the base and a pair of triangular shaped sidewalls located such that the top surface is between the sidewalls. A bracket extends outwardly from a bottom edge of the wall to receive a portion of a lengthwise edge of a keyboard. A keyboard is stored on the keyboard holder by positioning a portion of the lengthwise edge of the keyboard on the bracket and leaning the keyboard against the front side of the wall. When a keyboard is stored on the keyboard holder, the keyboard obscures the view of the built-in shelf.

Abstract: Computer-implemented systems and methods for synthesis of concept definitions and concept relationships from a domain of data, utilizing different semantic processing protocols such as formal concept analysis and faceted classification synthesis from existing domain concepts that have a confidence gradient built into them. A cognitive or an input agent provides an input of an active concept which is matched against existing domain concepts. The resultant pool of relevant domain concepts is then used to derive virtual concept definitions using a semantic processing protocol. The derivation is then overlaid with a concept of relative proximity of an attribute from another within an attribute set. An additional layer of coherence is given by the relative proximity measure. The end result is a pool of related virtual concept definitions in a tree structure.

Abstract: Techniques for profiling input/output (I/O) characteristics in a computing system implemented with distributed infrastructure. In one example, a method comprises the following steps. Behavioral characteristics are extracted for a set of factors associated with a targeted system in a distributed infrastructure by causing execution of one or more input/output workloads in accordance with one or more entities and the targeted system. At least a portion of the extracted behavioral characteristics is utilized to determine whether one or more subsequent workloads satisfy one or more quality-of-service criteria when executed in accordance with at least one of the one or more entities and the targeted system.

Abstract: A coating system for application to metal components prior to assembly or fabrication into large metal objects is described. The system includes a composition comprising a water-dispersible polymer component, a crosslinking agent, and a conductive material. When applied to a metal substrate, the coating system is weldable and provides optimal corrosion resistance during fabrication or assembly.

Abstract: A portable apparatus that provides electrical power receptacles and device charging ports. The portable apparatus has a base member and a plurality of post members connected to the base member. Each post member has an electrical power receptacle that provides electrical power and an electrical power device having a device charging port that provides a voltage suitable for charging and powering devices such as cell phones, cameras, iPads, Ipods and similar devices. In a preferred embodiment, the electrical power device includes an additional electrical power receptacle. Each post member has an interior region and electrical wiring located with the interior region which provides electrical power to the electrical power receptacles and the electrical power device. The portable apparatus also has a top member connected to the post members and an intermediate support member that is attached to the post members and located between the top member and the base member.

Abstract: An apparatus for providing HDMI cables and utility receptacles on a work surface. The apparatus has a housing which has an interior region, a lower portion and an upper portion. The upper portion has an opening that provides access to the interior region. The lower portion comprises wall sections attached to and extending downwardly from the upper portion. The upper portion has a flange portion that is angulated with respect to the wall sections. A bottom panel is attached to the wall sections. The housing is sized such that the lower portion fits into a through-hole in a work surface and the flange portion contacts and rests upon portions of the work surface extending about the through-hole in the work surface. A HDMI signal switching device is within the interior region and has a plurality of HDMI input connectors and an HDMI output connector.

Abstract: An aerial refueling assembly includes, for example, a pressure transducer, a processor, and one or more light sources. The processor is coupled to the pressure transducer. The one or more light sources are coupled to the processor. The pressure transducer is configured to sense a fuel pressure inside the aerial refueling assembly and to provide a signal that is indicative of the sensed fuel pressure inside the aerial refueling assembly. The processor is configured to receive the signal and to cause the one or more light sources to flash in a manner that relates to the sensed fuel pressure.

Abstract: Techniques for delivering and measuring storage quality-of-service to virtual machines in a distributed virtual infrastructure. In one example, a method comprises the following steps. A controller obtains quality-of-service data from at least a portion of components of a distributed virtual infrastructure, wherein the components of the distributed virtual infrastructure comprise one or more storage units, one or more processing units, and one or more switches operatively coupled to form the distributed virtual infrastructure. The controller manages at least one input/output request throughout a path defined by at least one of the one or more processing units, at least one of the one or more switches, and at least one of the one or more storage units, based on at least a portion of the collected quality-of-service data.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for generating contextual search presentations. One of the methods includes obtaining selection data identifying a term selected by a user from a document displayed to the user; determining whether or not the context data and the selection data satisfy one or more criteria for presenting any of one or more types of special case contextual search presentations; in response to determining that the context data and the selection satisfy criteria for presenting a first type of special case contextual search presentation, generating a first special case contextual search presentation of the first type; in response to determining that the context data and the selection data do not satisfy the criteria, generating a default contextual search presentation; and providing the first special case contextual search presentation or the default contextual search presentation for presentation to the user.

Abstract: A portable apparatus for providing electrical power receptacles and device charging ports has a bottom panel member having a top side and a bottom side. A wall structure is attached and substantially perpendicular to the top side of the bottom panel member. The wall structure defines an interior region and comprises a plurality of sections wherein each section has an opening therein. Electrical power devices are located within the interior region. Each electrical power device is attached to a corresponding section of the wall structure and has an electrical power receptacle and device charging ports that are positioned within the opening in the corresponding section of the wall structure. A top panel member covers the interior region defined by the wall structure. The wall structure is attached to the top panel member. An electrical power cable is electrically connected to all of the electrical power devices.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for automatic text suggestion are described. One of the methods includes receiving a text item including one or more terms; determining a plurality of text strings, each text string including a matching portion and one or more suffixes, wherein the matching portion matches the text item, and the one or more suffixes are located after the matching portion; ranking the one or more suffixes based on a credibility score and a frequency score of each suffix, the credibility score indicating an estimated credibility of a source of the text string including the suffix, the frequency score indicating an estimated frequency of appearance of the suffix; and providing a group of the one or more suffixes that includes a highest ranking suffix for display as a suggestion for completing a sentence starting from the text item.

Abstract: A computer processing system includes a plurality of nodes, each node having at least one processor core and at least one level of cache memory which is private to the node, a shared, last level cache (LLC) memory device and a shared, last level cache location buffer containing cache location entries, each cache location entry storing an address tag and a plurality of location information. The location information stored in a cache location entry points to an identified cacheline location within the LLC that stores a cacheline associated with the location information. The cacheline stored in the LLC has associated information identifying the cache location entry.

Abstract: Data can be stored in a multi-level cache hierarchy memory system by, for example, storing valid data associated with a cacheline in a primary location in a first cache memory location. The first cache memory also stores location information about an alternative location in a second cache memory associated with the cacheline. Space is allocated in the alternative location of the second cache memory to store data associated with the cacheline.

Abstract: A placement policy enables the selective storage of cachelines in a multi-level cache hierarchy: Reuse behavior of a cacheline is tracked during execution of an application in both a first level cache memory and a second level cache memory. A cache placement policy for the cacheline is determined based on the tracked reuse behavior.

Abstract: The execution or processing of an application can be adapted or modified based on a level of a cache in which a requested data block resides, by extracting level information from a cache hierarchy. When a request for a data block is made by a core to a cache memory system, the cache memory system extracts a level of a cache memory in which the data block resides from information stored in the cache memory system. The core is informed of the level of the cache memory in which the data block resides, and uses this information to adapt its processing of the application.

Abstract: An apparatus for providing utility receptacles and HDMI cables at a location on a work surface has a bottom panel member and a wall structure attached to the bottom panel member. The wall structure defines an interior region. An interior panel is positioned within the interior region and attached to the wall structure to form upper and lower compartments. An electrical power device is positioned within the interior region and attached to the wall structure. The electrical power device has an electrical power receptacle and device charging ports. A HDMI signal switcher is in the lower compartment and has HDMI input and output connectors. The apparatus includes a plurality of HDMI cables. Each HDMI cable extends from a corresponding opening in the interior panel and has a first HDMI connector connected to a corresponding HDMI input connector and a second HDMI connector for connection to an HDMI signal source device.
