Abstract: Disclosed is amusement apparatus for an offensive player aiming a physical projectile toward a selected target attached to a base member and for a defensive player actively controllably defending one or more targets with a mechanical shield movably associated with the base member. The amusement apparatus concept herein is adaptable for an exceedingly challenging and remarkably realistic gridiron football type game wherein the aimable physical projectile is aerial, analagous to the gridiron quaterback and football-receiver situation, with the controllably movable shield being analagous to a football-defenseman. For the gridiron football game type embodiment, the aerial projectile is desireably a dart, and preferably wherein the combination dart leadward-end and the target is of the removably secureable hooks-and-eyes or "Velcro" type.
