Patent number: 8279574Abstract: An emergency lighting system comprising an electrical panel board comprising a two-pole switched breaker with one pole controlled using an Emergency Remote Operated Relay. Each of the poles of the circuit breaker is fed by a single phase. The controlled pole feeds normal power to the lighting ballast operating under normal conditions. The non-controlled pole feeds constant power to at least one battery which provides back-up power to the light(s) in an emergency/power failed condition. The Emergency Remote Operated Relay further comprises a two pole circuit breaker (BQD 2P) with one of the poles connected to a Remote Operated Relay that is remotely controllable.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 2009Date of Patent: October 2, 2012Assignee: Siemens Industry, Inc.Inventors: William O. Patent number: 7546713Abstract: For use with prefabricated pool wall panels that have a top flange extending outwardly from the pool cavity to attach a coping layer, an extender strip attachable to the top flange increases the effective width of coping support. The extender strips have a curvature conforming to the curvature of the wall panel. The extender strip includes a flat portion for supporting a coping layer and a flange portion adjacent the outside perimeter of the strip. The strip can be attached to the wall panel with the flange portion facing up or down, depending on the nature of the coping layer. The structure may also include horizontal support brackets and vertical support braces.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 2005Date of Patent: June 16, 2009Inventor: David A. Bradley

Publication number: 20070286688Abstract: A ground retaining wall includes wall panels formed from steel sheet to provide a flat exterior wall surface on a front side and having side flanges on vertically extending edges for joining panels together. The wall includes reinforcement studs and brackets attached to a back side of the panels and extending between a top cap and a base pan of the panels. Each bracket is located along a panel side flange at a seam where two panels are joined together. The wall also includes support brace assemblies each attached to the panels at one of the seams. The brace assembly includes a base plate attached to a bottom strut and a brace rod. The brace rod extends diagonally between the base plate and wall panel. The wall may include a concrete base covering the wall panel base pans and the brace assembly base plates.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 7, 2007Publication date: December 13, 2007Inventor: David A. Patent number: 7030333Abstract: A method of joining plates includes the steps of providing a one or more studs having a head, a barrel and a weld tip. The plates and studs are arranged such that a first plate having at least one hole is located between the studs and a second plate with each stud aligned with a hole and contacting the second plate. Current is passed through the stud using the stud head and the second plate as electrodes to melt the weld tip bonding the stud to the second plate. The studs are arranged such that an air gap between the studs and the first plate prevents arcing during the welding step. Pressure and heat may be applied to compress the barrel such that the stud functions as a rivet. Alternatively, the barrel may remain uncompressed to provide a pin allowing relative rotation between the plates.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 2005Date of Patent: April 18, 2006Inventor: David A. The cover is movable between a closed position to cover the print head and an open position to expose the print head. An arm is pivotally attachable to the print cartridge and is movably attached to the cover. A biasing device for biasing the cover in the closed position is attached to the arm and is attachable to the print cartridge.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 2002Date of Patent: April 27, 2004Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Michael Walter Keyes, David A. Patent number: 6290348Abstract: A universal inkjet cartridge body with multiple ink reservoirs that can be used for single color or multiple color applications. The ink flow routing is accomplished by merely changing the printhead-to-body sealing structure, which can be an adhesive pattern. This allows for all the reservoirs' inks to be mixed at the head for one cartridge configuration, or the respective inks can be directed to different parts of the printhead for a multiple color application. The same cartridge body structure can be used for two or more cartridge configurations. A nose piece structure defines multiple ink channels leading from the respective ink reservoirs to a printhead mounting region. The sealing structure is applied to mount the printhead to the nose piece and to complete the ink path routing from the reservoirs to the printhead nozzle array(s).Type: GrantFiled: January 5, 2000Date of Patent: September 18, 2001Assignee: Hewlett-Packard CompanyInventors: Richard A. Patent number: 5907027Abstract: An aromatic polycarbonate composition having less than 400 parts per billion each of ionic impurities, particularly sulfate, chloride and fluoride ions prepared by devolatilizing the ionic impurities from a polycarbonate composition employing an aqueous medium of about 1% by weight based on the weight of the polycarbonate composition. Preferably the devolatilizing is carried out in an extruder during compounding the polycarbonate composition and preferably under a vacuum. Also, the extruded strands of polycarbonate resin are quenched in a deionized water bath.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 1998Date of Patent: May 25, 1999Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Gary E.
