Patent number: 7836057Abstract: A search engine for databases, data streams, and other data sources allows user preferences as to the relative importance of search criteria to be used to rank the output of the search engine. A weighted preference generator generates weighted preference information including at least a plurality of weights corresponding to a plurality of search criteria. A weighted preference data search engine uses the weighted preference information to search a data source and to provide an ordered result list based upon the weighted preference information. A method for weighted preference data searching further includes allowing a user to re-rank the ordered result list and determine newly updated weighted preferences based on the re-ranking process. A plurality of weights signifying the relative importance of the search criteria may also be generated by the user inputting an ordered list. This ordered list may be a single alternative or a plurality of alternatives.Type: GrantFiled: May 23, 2007Date of Patent: November 16, 2010Assignee: Auguri CorporationInventors: Fadi Victor Micaelian, Richard Sawey, Emil Mario Scoffone, David Brandon Criswell, Jie Yang

Publication number: 20100088356Abstract: Described is a technology for use with general discrete Fourier transforms (DFTs) performed on a graphics processing unit (GPU). The technology is implemented in a general library accessed through GPU-independent APIs. The library handles complex and real data of any size, including for non-power-of-two data sizes. In one implementation, the radix-2 Stockham formulation of the fast Fourier transform (FFT) is used to avoid computationally expensive bit reversals. For non-power of two data sizes, a Bluestein z-chirp algorithm may be used.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 3, 2008Publication date: April 8, 2010Applicant: MICROSOFT CORPORATIONInventors: David Brandon Lloyd, Charles Neil Boyd, Naga K. Patent number: 6479406Abstract: An improved method for depositing ferroelectric particles on a surface of a substrate to form films or stand-alone bodies. The improvement is based on electrophoretic deposition (EPD) of ferroelectric films by using a tri-functional phosphate ester additive having a concentration less than 10 volume percent in the EPD suspension, without the need for addition of a binder. The method includes preparation of the suspension by washing and dispersing ferroelectric particles, for example, commercially available PZT powder, in a polar solvent such as ethanol, followed by addition of the phosphate ester additive to the suspension, and an ultrasound treatment. The suspension is used in EPD of the ferroelectric particles on a prepared substrate. Following EPD, the green film is dried and sintered at high temperature.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 2000Date of Patent: November 12, 2002Assignee: Cerel (Ceramic Technologies) Ltd.Inventors: Leah Gal-Or, Rony Goldner, Nina Sezin, Ala Pismany, David Brandon

Patent number: 6462022Abstract: The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition comprising lisinopril and dibasic calcium phosphate dihydrate (DCPD), produced by a process comprising mixing lisinopril and DCPD with a specific surface area of less than 1.5 m2g−1. The use of large particle sized DCPD in a lisinopril formulation/composition has the effect of reducing the amount of the lisinopril degradation product DKP that is formed, thereby increasing the shelf-life of tablets formulated with the larger sized DCPD, particularly those with low doses of lisinopril.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 2001Date of Patent: October 8, 2002Assignee: AstraZeneca ABInventors: Ronald John Roberts, David Brandon Bowen
