More particularly, it relates to transgenic nucleic acid constructs having the reporter gene under operational control of the Colla1 promoter further comprising a regulatory element that regulates the expression of collagen. Such constructs and methods using these constructs are particularly useful in studying correct stage and tissue specific expression of collagen.
