Patent number: 8418580Abstract: A cable assembly includes a mount and an anchor. The mount may include a bracket having an edge, a slot formed in the bracket and extending from the edge, and a recess extending at least partially around the slot. The anchor may be an end fitting that includes an adjuster body having a flange, a slide collar movable toward and away from the flange, and a spring member biasing the slide collar toward the flange. The adjuster body may extend through the slot with the flange and the slide collar on opposed sides. The spring member may bias the slide collar into the recess to form an interlock between the end fitting and the bracket that resists removal of the end fitting from the slot. A preferred end fitting has a drop in swivel tube and an internal isolator that completely isolates a conduit sleeve.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 2007Date of Patent: April 16, 2013Assignee: Dura Operating, LLCInventors: Gregory Phillip Ruhlander, Donald Gene Gordy, David A. Patent number: 7568316Abstract: Installation structure for installing and removing a sacrificial glazing panel. There is disclosed a removable retaining member for the sacrificial glazing panel that laterally pressures a primary glazing panel to seal and hold the primary glazing panel and holds the sacrificial glazing panel without lateral pressure. A unitary, dual-durometer retaining member is disclosed which is optimized for holding the primary glazing and the sacrificial glazing panel in different manners by having materials of two different hardnesses. Additionally, a retaining member is disclosed that has flocking material to reduce rattling of the sacrificial glazing panel.Type: GrantFiled: July 8, 2005Date of Patent: August 4, 2009Assignee: Dura Global Technologies, Inc.Inventors: David A. Choby, Michael D. Kobrehel, Daryl F. Dankert, Leroy C. Schmuck, Todd E. Cripe, Harley Rensch, Kip B. Ellis

Publication number: 20080092608Abstract: A locking mechanism for a shift lever includes a detent member movable along a path, a stopper member movable between a locking position to block movement of the detent member and an unlocking position to permit movement of the detent member, and a cam member carried by the stopper member and pivotable relative to the stopper member. In one embodiment, a spring member resiliently biases the stopper member toward the locking position. An electromagnetic solenoid permits relative movement between the cam member and the stopper member when unenergized and prevents relative movement between the cam member and the stopper member when energized. The cam member applies a force to the stopper member to move the stopper member toward the unlocking position in response to movement of the detent member along the predetermined path when the electromagnetic solenoid is energized.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 28, 2006Publication date: April 24, 2008Inventors: Yong Qiang Wang, David A. Choby

Patent number: 7353728Abstract: A conduit end fitting includes a length of conduit having a core wire extending therethrough and a fitting at an end of the length of conduit. An abutment is rotatably secured to the fitting and has an exterior groove configured to be seated on a substantially U-shaped bracket and a central aperture extending therethrough. A swivel guide tube has an aperture through which the core wire extends and extends through the central aperture of the abutment. A flexible joint member secures one end of the swivel guide tube to the abutment such that the swivel guide tube is rotationally fixed with respect to the abutment.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2004Date of Patent: April 8, 2008Assignee: Dura Global Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Gregory P. Ruhlander, David A. Choby

Publication number: 20080022805Abstract: A locking mechanism for a shift lever includes a detent member movable along a path, a stopper member movable between a locking position and an unlocking position, and a cam member. A spring member resiliently biases the stopper member toward the locking position. An electromagnetic solenoid has a coil fixed to the cam member and a core fixed to the stopper member. The electromagnetic solenoid permits relative movement between the stopper member and the cam member when the electromagnetic solenoid is unenergized and prevents relative movement between the stopper member and the cam member when the electromagnetic solenoid is energized. The cam member applies a force to the stopper member to move the stopper member toward the unlocking position in response to movement of the detent member when the electromagnetic solenoid is energized.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 28, 2006Publication date: January 31, 2008Inventors: Brian Douglas Howe, Jeffrey Gibson, David A. Patent number: 7170244Abstract: A power closure system with anti-pinch having a closure, a motor operatively connected to the closure, a sensor operatively producing signals indicative of motor speed, an anti-pinch activator coupled to the sensor and the motor, the anti-pinch activator including a predetermined trigger value; a measured value; a stored value; a comparator for comparing the measured value with the stored value and initiating a pinch response when the difference between the measured value and the stored value is greater than the trigger value; and a predetermined modifying calculation for changing the stored value when the measured value indicates a motor speed less than the motor speed indicated by the stored value.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 2005Date of Patent: January 30, 2007Assignee: Dura Global Technologies, Inc.Inventor: David A.
