  • Publication number: 20220128744
Abstract: A partially reflective thin film coating is utilized on an optical substrate that is affixed to a waveguide-based optical combiner in a see-through display of a mixed-reality head-mounted display (HMD) device to partially reflect a forward propagating holographic image light back to the user's eye. The thin film coating may be implemented as a broadband reflector over the angular range associated with the holographic images that are rendered over the field of view (FOV) of the virtual portion of the see-through display to simplify manufacturing and reduce bulk and weight of the HMD device.

  • Patent number: 11202061
Abstract: Pointers are added to a 3D volumetric dataset to help the user visualize the direction of blood flow. A 3D volume containing at least one blood vessel is created. Next, the direction of the blood flow is determined. Next, at least pointer is placed into the 3D volume in an aligned fashion with the direction of blood flow such that the 3D volume is modified. Next, the modified 3D volume is displayed on a head display unit, such as an augmented reality or virtual reality display. Next, at least one pointer is advanced to a new position for additional modification of the 3D imaging volume.

  • Publication number: 20210272211
Abstract: A method includes receiving confirmation that an insurance policy was issued to a subscriber. The insurance policy is associated with a trigger event that would trigger a subscriber claim based on the policy. The method includes determining a plurality of factors that would affect an occurrence of the trigger event. The plurality of factors includes a political factor and an economic factor. The method also includes evaluating a likelihood of the trigger event occurring based on the plurality of factors and providing reinsurance to an issuer of the first insurance policy. The method also includes sponsoring a catastrophe bond to be offered to investors based on the trigger event.
