  • Patent number: 5944190
Abstract: A radiopharmaceutical capsule safe has a two-piece capsule vial that is sealed within a two-piece radiopaque safe which, in turn, is preferably contained within an outer jar. The cap of the two-piece vial is radiotransmissive such that the radiopharmaceutical capsule can be assayed simply by removing the lid portion of the safe from the bottom of the safe while leaving the radiopharmaceutical capsule environmentally sealed within the vial. After replacing the safe lid, the vial is opened by rotating the safe lid, which automatically turns the vial cap to disengage it from the vial bottom for dosing of the capsule to a patient.
