Publication number: 20240076791Abstract: An electrochemical additive manufacturing method includes coupling a first electronic device to a build plate and positioning the build plate into an electrolyte solution. The method also includes positioning a deposition anode array into the electrolyte solution, connecting the cathode portion of the build plate and one or more deposition anodes of the abide array to a power source. The method also includes transmitting electrical energy from the power source, through the one or more deposition anodes, through the electrolyte solution, and to the cathode portion of the build plate, such that material is deposited onto the cathode portion and forms at least a sidewall of a shell that encases the first electronic device against the build plate when the first electronic device is coupled to the build plate. The shell and the first electronic device form a second electronic device.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 6, 2023Publication date: March 7, 2024Inventors: David Pain, Andrew Edmonds

Patent number: 11920251Abstract: An electrochemical additive manufacturing method includes positioning a build plate into an electrolyte solution. The conductive layer comprises at least one conductive-layer segment forming a pattern corresponding with a component. The method further comprises connecting the at least one conductive-layer segment and one or more deposition anodes to a power source. The one or more deposition anodes correspond with at least a portion of the pattern formed by the at least one conductive-layer segment. The method additionally comprises transmitting electrical energy from the power source through the one or more deposition anodes of the plurality of deposition anodes corresponding with the at least the portion of the pattern formed by the at least one conductive-layer segment, through the electrolyte solution, and to the at least one conductive-layer segment, such that material is deposited onto the at least one conductive-layer segment and forms at least a portion of the component.Type: GrantFiled: September 6, 2022Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignee: FABRIC8LABS, INC.Inventors: David Pain, Ian Winfield, Andrew Edmonds, Kareem Shaik, Jeffrey Herman, Michael Matthews, Charles Pateros

Patent number: 9720818Abstract: A testing framework has been developed to address these issues that takes common functionality normally imported by the testing scripts on the client device and instead splits the functionality into standalone, fault tolerant, scalable services. Accordingly, the scripts can utilize the functionality through APIs and therefore test drivers executing a test or building a test environment or other testing processes may access the services through an API. Therefore, each testing client and test driver does not need to separately import the functionality and run the functionality on the memory of the client device separately. Rather, multiple tests can use these functionalities, allowing the testing services to be scaled between tests.Type: GrantFiled: September 3, 2015Date of Patent: August 1, 2017Assignee: NetApp, Inc.Inventor: Michael David Edmonds

Publication number: 20150322696Abstract: A double acting service traffic door latch system embodiment of the present invention comprises a dual electro-mechanical lock in a single housing that is surface installed in the overhead door casings horizontally just over two bi-swing tandem warehouse security doors. Each electro-mechanical lock has two catches that drop down with a pivot arm onto either side of its respective door to prevent that door opening in either direction. A flat thin-profile housing allows the lock assembly to fit in between the tops of existing doors and their header. The doors can freely swing open if the respective catches retract back into the housing. Wireless RFID readers are used to unlock the doors when authorized users approach and are recognized. The lock is failsafe in that losing power will always unlock the doors immediately.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 21, 2015Publication date: November 12, 2015Inventor: David Edmond Dudley

Patent number: 9145724Abstract: A hydraulic closer and dampener that can be removed and replaced by opening a post cap to then lift an internal closer assembly out of the top of an internally pivotable shaft inside a free-standing floor-mounted post. The remainder of the gate mechanism remains functional during such service. An automatic closing speed adjustment is easy to access and set. There are no external hinges, the gate pivots on an axis coaxial to the cylindrical post.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 2015Date of Patent: September 29, 2015Inventors: David Edmond Dudley, Simon David Dudley
