  • Patent number: 9741002
Abstract: A method for providing an estimate for a defined building control system comprises displaying on a user interface a plurality of areas in which the defined building control system would be installed. Pluralities of subsystems are associated with the plurality of areas and include at least one typical subsystem that is associated with a defined plurality of building automation components in a database. The method further comprises displaying on the user interface the typical subsystem in association with the plurality of areas. A number of instances of the typical subsystem that are associated with the plurality of areas are also displayed on the user interface. A cost estimate is generated for the defined building control system based at least in part on the number of instances of the typical subsystem.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 17, 2015
Date of Patent: August 22, 2017
    Assignee: SIEMENS INDUSTRY, INC.
Inventors: John A. Faragoi, Jr., David A. Egbers

  • Publication number: 20150278932
Abstract: A method for providing an estimate for a defined building control system comprises displaying on a user interface a plurality of areas for the defined building control system. The method further comprises associating a plurality of subsystems of the defined building control system with the plurality of areas, each of the plurality of subsystems associated with a defined plurality of building automation components in a database, the plurality of subsystems including a first subsystem and a second subsystem both associated with one area of the plurality of areas. Both the first subsystem and the second subsystem are displayed on the user interface in association with the one area. A cost estimate for the defined building control system is generated based at least in part on the first subsystem and not based on the second subsystem.

  • Patent number: 5090304
Abstract: A sensing means for determining the absolute position of one or more structures such as doors, windows or the like that are moveable in sets of tracks. Apparatus comprises an electrical switching means having an elongated electrical resistance means with a predetermined resistance value per unit length located adjacent to one of the sash doors, actuator means associated with the sash doors for operating said switching means, circuit means adapted to provide a substantially constant electrical current through a portion of said resistance means between an end portion of said resistance means and the nearest switch location, said circuit means thereby providing a voltage signal having a magnitude that is proportional to the distance between said end portion of said resistance means and the switch location.
