  • Patent number: 9787815
Abstract: A method for obtaining a point-of-collection, selected quantitative indicia of an analyte on a test strip using a smartphone involves imaging a test strip on which a colorimetric reaction of a target sample has occurred due to test strip illumination by the smartphone. The smartphone includes a smartphone app and a smartphone accessory that provides an external environment-independent/internal light-free, imaging environment independent of the smartphone platform being used. The result can then be presented quantitatively or turned into a more consumer-friendly measurement (positive, negative, above average, etc.), displayed to the user, stored for later use, and communicated to a location where practitioners can provide additional review. Additionally, social media integration can allow for device results to be broadcast to specific audiences, to compare healthy living with others, to compete in health based games, create mappings, and other applications.

  • Publication number: 20170174343
Abstract: Coffee or other drink, for example a caffeine containing drink, is delivered to individuals that would like the drink, or who have a predetermined cognitive state, using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)/drone. The drink is connected to the UAV, and the UAV flies to an area including people, and uses sensors to scan the people for an individual who has gestured that they would like the drink, or for whom an electronic analysis of sensor data indicates to be in a predetermined cognitive state. The UAV then flies to the individual to deliver the drink. The analysis can include profile data of people, including electronic calendar data, which can be used to determine a potentially predetermined cognitive state.

  • Patent number: 9686395
Abstract: A system, methods, and apparatus for biomolecular measurements, monitoring, and tracking uses a smartphone-based system. A biological sample, including, but not limited to blood, saliva, biopsy, or sweat, is collected on a modular diagnostic test platform, which is then inserted into a smartphone accessory. Optical, electrical, mechanical, or other means are used to transduce a biomolecular binding event, including antibody, aptamer, enzymatic, base-pair matching, or other biological recognition reaction and communicate the results with the smartphone. Some specific examples of targets include 25-hydroxyvitamin D, folic acid, DNA, or proteins from infectious agents, and zinc. The result can then be presented quantitatively or turned into a more consumer-friendly measurement (positive, negative, above average, etc.), displayed to the user, stored for later comparison, and communicated to a central hub location where medical professionals can provide additional review.

  • Patent number: 9621957
Abstract: Aspects of a method and system for low-latency browsing on a device with limited processing resources are provided. In this regard, content may be retrieved and processed by a server on behalf of a client device, and the server may communicate the processed content to the client device. In processing the content, the server may process a portion of the content that will initially be displayed in a browser window by the client before processing one or more other (e.g., remaining) portion(s) of the content. The processed portion that will initially be displayed in the browser window may be communicated to the client device while a another portion of the content is processed by the server. In this manner, a user does not have to wait for an entire web page to be processed before at least a portion of the web page is viewable in the browser window.

  • Patent number: 9591102
Abstract: A gateway having at least one communications interface and processing circuitry establishes communications with at least one service provider device and at least one serviced client device. The gateway then determines that a serviced client device is to establish an Internet browsing session. Based upon characteristics of the serviced client device, the gateway determines where to instantiate a web browser to service the Internet browsing session. Based upon the determination, in a first operation, instantiates the web browser to service the Internet browsing session at the gateway or client device. In a second operation, the gateway instantiates the web browser to service the Internet browsing session at a service provider server. In other operations, the gateway may determine to instantiate a browser for a first client device at a cloud server and to instantiate a browser for a second client device either locally or at the second client device.

  • Patent number: 9410892
Abstract: An optofluidic architecture for label free, highly parallel, detection of molecular interactions is based on the use of optically resonant devices whose resonant wavelength is shifted due to a local change in refractive index caused by a positive binding event between a surface bound molecule and its solution phase target. These devices have an extremely low limit of detection and are compatible with aqueous environments. The device combines the sensitivity (limit of detection) of nanosensor technology with the parallelity of the microarray type format.
