  • Patent number: 10620779
Abstract: Technology is proposed to enable navigating a holographic image. A moving object, such as a hand, is tracked and a gesture is recognized. In response to recognizing the gesture, a virtual shape is created at the location of the recognized gesture. The shape has at least one dimension. The holographic image is moved based on current position of the moving object with respect to the virtual shape.

  • Patent number: 9472349
Abstract: A sintered article in which a solid body is at least partially embedded includes an opening. The solid body extends across the opening so that the solid body can deform within the opening. The opening in the solid body prevents distortion of the sintered body from a planar configuration during sintering, even when the green body that is sintered is relatively thin.

  • Patent number: 8741214
Abstract: A method of making a sintered article in which a solid object is embedded includes forming a green body of compressed particles with the solid body is partially embedded. The green body includes an opening across which the solid body extends. The green body is sintered to form a sintered body and the opening permits deformation of the solid body in response to stress applied during the sintering process. The opening in the solid body prevents distortion of the sintered body from a planar configuration during sintering, even when the green body is relatively thin.

  • Publication number: 20120127632
Abstract: Capacitors employing liquid or gel electrolytes have their useful lifetime significantly extended by including, in the electrolyte, a binary mixture of transition metal ion species. Each species has at least two distinct oxidation states when dissolved in the electrolyte. The interaction of the mixture of ion species reduces the potential of the cathode and maintains the potential of the cathode below the hydrogen potential to prevent the reduction of hydrogen ions and the formation of hydrogen. The binary mixture of transition metal species reduces the cathode potential by oxidation of the transition metal species at the anode and reduction of the transition metal species at the cathode. Thus, the rate of decrease in capacitance, increase in equivalent series resistance, and swelling of the capacitor are suppressed. In addition, the ratio of capacitor aging to the quantity of charge passed by the capacitor is decreased by at least a factor of two as compared to previous known extended life capacitors.

  • Patent number: 7949644
Abstract: A computer-readable medium comprises data structure for providing information about levels of similarity between pairs of N documents. The data structure comprises a plurality of entries of similarity values representing levels of similarity for a plurality of pairs of the documents. Each of the similarity values represents a level of similarity of one document of a given pair relative to the other document of the given pair. The similarity value of each entry is greater than a threshold similarity value that is greater than zero. The plurality of similarity-value entries are fewer than N2?N in number if the similarity values are asymmetric with regard to document pairing, and the plurality of similarity-value entries are fewer than N 2 - N 2 in number if the similarity values are symmetric with regard to document pairing. A method and apparatus for generating the data structure are described.

  • Publication number: 20090287668
Abstract: A computer-based process is described for identifying clusters of documents that have some degree of similarity from among a set of documents that permits user interaction with the process. A plurality of seed candidate documents is identified. Candidate probes based upon the seed candidate documents are generated, and information regarding the candidate probes is displayed to a user. User input regarding the candidate probes is received, and a set of probes from which to form clusters of documents are defined based upon the user input regarding the candidate probes. A probe is selected and a cluster of documents is formed from among available documents not yet clustered using the probe. The process can be repeated to generate further clusters. The process can be implemented with a computer system, and associated programming instructions can be contained within a computer readable medium.
