  • Patent number: 10783773
Abstract: An apparatus detects and warns pedestrians of traffic approaching an intersection. The apparatus includes multiple unitary sensors for detecting traffic, each unitary sensor being capable of detecting a pedestrian and a moving metal object such as a forklift. The unitary sensors use microwaves to detect moving metal objects and, in some embodiments can also use microwaves to detect pedestrians. Each of the unitary sensors has an activatable pedestrian mode that, when activated, allows the unitary sensor to sense and detect the presence of pedestrians.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 9384660
Abstract: An apparatus includes a mirror dome and a light producing system for producing and transmitting light through the mirror dome to an external surface to produce a message viewable on the external surface. A sensing system identifies traffic and is in communication with the light producing system to cause the light producing system to produce and project a message viewable on the external surface when the sensing system detects approaching objects or traffic.

  • Patent number: 8905568
Abstract: A partially transparent dome mirror is used to display messages generated from within the dome by a light generating system. The mirror is incorporated in an apparatus for seeing and warning traffic crossing at an intersection in a commercial, industrial or other space to improve worker safety and to avoid costly damage due to collisions at the intersection. The unitary apparatus does not require sensors or other wiring external to the mirror and its supporting frame. The mirror system can also be used in commercial and retail applications for surveillance and advertising.

  • Publication number: 20110260888
Abstract: A partially transparent dome minor is used to display messages generated from within the dome by a light generating system. The minor is incorporated in an apparatus for seeing and warning traffic crossing at an intersection in a commercial, industrial or other space to improve worker safety and to avoid costly damage due to collisions at the intersection. The unitary apparatus does not require sensors or other wiring external to the mirror and its supporting frame. The mirror system can also be used in commercial and retail applications for surveillance and advertising.

  • Patent number: 7699141
Abstract: The invention is a device mounted on a forklift to provide the operator with information of the distance from the pallet load to the upright part of the fork/tines. The invention has a source of a range determining signal such as sonic waves but other signals such as infra red or radar waves may be used. The emitted signals hit the palletized goods and are reflected to a detector or sensor and processed. The range information is transferred to a distance display device. The range/distance between the upright part of forklift tines and the palletized load combined with knowledge of the length of floor parallel tines of the forks will provide information to prevent any excessive penetration of the pallet hollow which excessive penetration can cause damage to either truck trailer walls, warehouse structures, or other palletized loads.

  • Publication number: 20070268685
Abstract: The invention is a warning or information system which has a flat curved mirror; flat mirror, half dome, full dome or any shape semi transparent mirror with a means to activate the warning or information mirror system,. The system has a signal transfer means, a warning or information light placed behind the mirror. Illumination from that warning or information light passes through the mirror to warn or provide information to the client. A detection means transfers information through a signal transfer means which activates the warning or information light behind the transparent mirror. A timing device deactivates said warning light after a preset time interval or the device is deactivated when the stimulus for the activation means exits the area. Optionally, an auditory alarm is activated by the signal transfer means to complement the visual display. The visual display may be a programmable scrolling message board with a message such as “Forklift Approaching.
