  • Publication number: 20210253537
Abstract: A process for the production of heterocyclic quaternary ammonium salts or hydroxides is disclosed. The process comprises a continuous hydrogenation step, in which an unsaturated heterocyclic amine is reacted with hydrogen to form a saturated heterocyclic amine; a first continuous N-alkylation step, in which the saturated heterocyclic amine is alkylated to produce an intermediate saturated heterocyclic amine having an increased degree of substitution compared to the saturated heterocyclic amine; and one or more further N-alkylation steps in which the intermediate saturated heterocyclic amine is N-alkylated to the heterocyclic quaternary ammonium salt or hydroxide. A process of producing a saturated heterocyclic amine is also disclosed. The process comprises reacting an unsaturated heterocyclic amine with hydrogen in a vapour phase reaction at a pressure of not more than 70 bar and a temperature in the range of from 150° C. to 350° C. A process of N-alkylating a saturated heterocyclic amine is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20110274728
Abstract: Various compositions and methods are provided to alleviate one or more symptoms associated with hyposalivation or xerostomia. Preferred compositions and methods employ one or more plant extracts and/or a proanthocyanidin at a concentration effective to reduce or eliminate the symptoms. Especially preferred extracts are isolated from a fruit and/or seed (e.g., grape, cranberry, blue berry, black berry, etc.), and where a second extract is present, such extract is preferably isolated from a citrus fruit (e.g., lemon, orange, lime, grapefruit, tangerine, mandarin orange, ugli fruit, etc.).

  • Publication number: 20060076698
Abstract: A dental prosthesis, such as a crown, a bridge, inlay, onlay, a laminate veneer or an artificial tooth, or a dental prosthesis base material, such as an abutment, an abutment having a post, or a post, is made with a low cost in a short time by using dental glass ionomer cement, which is excellent in cost, mechanical strength and biocompatibility and has fluorine sustained releasability in general, by a method comprising steps of enclosing a mixture of dental glass ionomer cement into a mold in a shape fitting to the dental prosthesis or the dental prosthesis base material to be made, putting the mold into water, irradiating the whole mold with a microwave, and curing the dental glass ionomer cement in a short time, thereby a conventional problem of slow curing reaction in dental glass ionomer cement is solved.

  • Patent number: 6168433
Abstract: A dental prophy angle adapted to be engaged with a dental handpiece having a nose cone and a low-speed rotary driver within the nose cone. The prophy angle has a proximal end adapted to releasably engage with said nose cone, and a distal end having an implement-mounting member rotatable therein. A flexible shaft extends from the nose cone through the angle to the mounting member and has a diameter which is substantially smaller than the interior wall of the prophy angle. The shaft has a coupling member with a free axial end adapted to engage the rotary driver in the nose cone to be rotated upon rotation of said driver, and an opposite captive end connected to said shaft with a shoulder surrounding said flexible shaft and facing away from said free end to confront an abutment limiting axial displacement of said coupling member within the prophy angle.

  • Patent number: 5815840
Abstract: A new cleaning glove for cleaning and/or treating various surfaces, such as on vehicles. The inventive device includes a flexible hand covering member defining a pocket for receiving the hand of a user therein. The flexible hand covering member includes a plurality of finger portions, preferably five finger portions, for covering the fingers on the hand. The hand covering member also includes separate pile areas formed on a front surface thereof, while the back surface is substantially free of pile. The hand covering member is made from an inner cloth layer, a middle liquid-resistant layer, and an exterior cloth layer, and has a cut formed in the back side thereof in order to accommodate different hand sizes.

  • Patent number: 5786491
Abstract: Disclosed is a process for whereby d-alpha-tocopheryl succinate (TS) can be crystallized in a short period of time by subjecting a fluid TS at particular temperature to a particular rate of shear for a particular time in order to accomplish crystallization. Then, while maintaining the crystallized TS at a temperature less than its melting point, we withdraw the crystallized TS from the region of shear flow. In a preferred embodiment of our process, crystallization is enhanced by use of a particular elongational rate for a particular time.

  • Patent number: 4542805
Abstract: An automatically retractable pivotal step assembly is used on scaffolding and storage structures, particularly in a warehouse environment. The automatic retractability feature is particularly important in keeping the step assembly from being struck and broken off by loading equipment, or causing injury to workers or damage to material being transported by loading equipment. The step assembly is pivotally secured to a stanchion member of the storage rack structure at a selected height to permit a warehouse worker to ascend to a second or higher level of the storage structure and then be automatically returned and stored in a retracted position behind the stanchion member when not being used. Several step assemblies may be vertically aligned on the stanchion in combination at increasing heights to permit access to multiple levels of the structure.
