  • Publication number: 20210339712
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for heat sanitizing a vehicle. In one example, a method may include, responsive to receiving a request for sanitization of a vehicle interior, operating a heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) system to heat the vehicle interior above an upper threshold temperature for a threshold duration. In this way, the HVAC system may be advantageously used to expose the vehicle interior to temperatures that kill or inactive microbes.

  • Patent number: 11156197
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for adjusting engine cranking. In one example, a method for an engine cold start may include extending engine cranking at least based on one or more engine cold start conditions, where extending engine cranking may increase an engine oil pressure in a plurality of camshaft phaser cavities of a variable camshaft timing (VCT) phaser. In some examples, the method may further include, after engine cranking, enabling fueling. In this way, fuel efficiency considerations may be balanced with increases to the engine oil pressure such that components of the VCT phaser may be actuated and/or lubricated.

  • Publication number: 20210262428
Abstract: A method for operating a vehicle that includes a DC/DC converter is described. In one example, the method includes adjusting an output voltage of the DC/DC converter after the DC/DC converter is used to crank an engine. The output voltage of the DC/DC converter may be adjusted responsive to a state of charge of an ultra-capacitor.

  • Patent number: 11060464
Abstract: Systems and methods for operating an internal combustion engine are described. In one example, an engine's position is adjusted during engine stopping so that the engine may be less likely to stop at a crankshaft angle where rotating a fuel pump may increase engine cranking torque due to work performed by the fuel pump.

  • Patent number: 10938864
Abstract: Systems and methods presented herein provide for real time communications between service provider subscribers. In one embodiment, a web server is operable to provide a network-to-network interface (NNI) with a plurality of service providers, to communicate with the service providers through WebRTC links, and to retrieve contact information of subscribers to the service providers over the WebRTC links. The web server also includes a database operable to store the contact information of the subscribers. The web server is also operable to process a connection request from a first of the subscribers to connect with a second of the subscribers, to retrieve the second subscriber's contact information from the database, to push a notification message to a device of the second subscriber using the second subscriber's contact information (e.g., a user identity), and to establish a WebRTC connection between first and second subscribers when the second subscriber accepts the connection.

  • Patent number: 10639812
Abstract: A high-speed food article slicing machine with a slicing station, a moveable frame supporting a food article feed mechanism frame, a food article gate, and a safety guard system for detecting an intrusion into the machine. Food articles are loaded onto a lift tray and raised to a staging position where food articles are in contact with a food article gate. The lift tray is located in line with the food article feed paths such that lateral shifting of food articles into the feed paths is not needed. Food article grippers, individually driven along feed paths by an overhead conveyor, move food articles over the food article gate towards the slicing station. The food article gate functions to assist in removal of food article end portions. The slicing machines utilizes a horizontally radiating laser intrusion detector to shut down systems when an unwanted intrusion is sensed.
