  • Publication number: 20140174824
Abstract: An electric auger including an auger assembly with a coupling assembly at a proximal end, a cutting assembly having at least one cutting blade located at a distal end, and a helical flight located between the proximal end and the distal end. The electric power head includes an A/C motor with a drive shaft configured to mechanically couple with the proximal end of the auger assembly. An on-board 36-volt DC battery pack powers the A/C motor. A controller includes an inverter that converts DC power to A/C power for the A/C motor. The ratio of cubic inches of ice cut per battery ampere-hour per weight in pounds of the electric auger is at least about 900 (inches3/ampere-hour/pounds).

  • Publication number: 20130263929
Abstract: A pressure control device for isolating a section of a conduit is described. The device comprises a support member, a flexible cup member mounted to the support member, a first swellable element, the first swellable element adapted, upon activation by an activation fluid, to urge a first portion of the cup member outwards into engagement with a conduit surface and at least one bypass arranged to permit the activation fluid to bypass the swellable element and build up behind a second portion of the cup member.

  • Patent number: 7427733
Abstract: A gated optical image intensifier 10 is provided with multiple intensifying channels 20, 22, 24, 26 each supplied with radiation via a respective optical channel of an optical splitter. The separate intensifying channels are subject to gating by a sequence of time spaced gating signals generated by an electronic gating signal generator. The multi-channel gated optical image intensifier has particular utility in the field of fluorescence lifetime imaging.

  • Publication number: 20070266315
Abstract: A system and method of creating and presenting mathematical documents are provided. The system comprises an input/output component for receiving user input and for displaying a mathematical document on a display device, a document repository 104 for storing the mathematical document and a mathematical engine for performing computations. The document includes markup that specifies display options. The method comprises the steps of receiving input data that represent characters, symbols and mathematical operations as well as manipulations and presentation control of the mathematical document, displaying mathematical expressions or a combination of mathematical expressions and text in an electronic document, performing computations on the mathematical expressions contained in the document, and controlling the formatting and display of the document.

  • Patent number: 6966528
Abstract: A holder for attaching a remote control to a piece of furniture. A bracket attaches to the piece of furniture and a platform is pivotally attached to the bracket and holds the remote control. The bracket includes a mounting plate, a stationary arm, and a movable arm. The platform has a lowermost surface which is concave allowing the platform to be used with remote controls having either flat or convex lower surfaces by merely inverting the platform accordingly, and a first portion of hook and loop fasteners screwed to the platform. A second portion of hook and loop fasteners is attached to the remote control and releasably engages with the first portion of hook and loop fasteners so as to releasably engage the remote control with the platform. A joint pivotally attaches the platform to the bracket and includes a pair of plates and a post with a second ball bearing and a screw boss.
