  • Patent number: 9833803
Abstract: An apparatus and system that efficiently and effectively delivers a sanitizing fluid to ducts in the form of a fog or mist is described. A canister that contains a liquid sanitizing solution is attached to a compressor and includes a straw that has an internal passageway that extends into the liquid and a venturi tube above the level of the liquid that connects with the internal passageway in the straw. The headspace above the liquid in the canister is pressurized, causing fluid to flow upwardly in the straw when a trigger is depressed, drawing fluid upwardly in part by the venturi. As the liquid passes the venturi the pressurized air that is flowing into the venturi causes the fluid to form a fine mist. The mist, under pressure from the compressor, is routed into a flexible delivery tube that has been previously positioned in a duct system. The terminal end of the tube has an atomizing ball attached thereto and the atomizing ball has a series of orifices through which the misted, atomized fluid is delivered.

  • Patent number: 9614459
Abstract: There is provided a method and control system for controlling a switching device in a power converter according to a modulation scheme. The switching device couples a direct current (DC) source to provide an alternating current (AC) output at a particular switching frequency. The method comprises the step of, in each switching period, switching the switching device between active configurations providing a finite voltage at the output and inactive configurations providing a zero voltage at the output. The ratio between the total period of time in which the switching device is in an active configuration and the total period of time in which the switching device is in an inactive configuration is the same for each switching period and is determined according to the desired voltage at the AC output.

  • Publication number: 20160353769
Abstract: A process for making an alcohol-containing frozen comestible substantially devoid of ice crystal agglomerations and/or ice crystal striations and/or trapped air and/or liquids is provided. The process includes substantially flash freezing an alcohol-containing liquid composition so as to produce a substantially single-phase solid alcohol-containing composition. The solid alcohol-containing composition, and/or pieces thereof, are then exposed to an environment having temperature of from about ?15° C. to about ?30° C. so as to soften the solid alcohol-containing compositions and/or meld the pieces thereof into a single mass. The temperature of the single mass is then reduced so as to harden the single mass. Also, a process for incorporating a frozen alcohol-containing liquid composition into a non-alcohol-containing fraction is provided. Alcohol-containing liquid compositions suitable for use in the process are also provided.

  • Patent number: 9476626
Abstract: A drive controller for a motor of a compressor includes a drive circuit that applies voltages to windings of the motor. A speed control module controls the drive circuit to rotate the motor at a requested speed. A speed determination module generates the requested speed based on a speed demand from a system controller. A lost rotor control module identifies a lost rotor condition and, in response to identifying the lost rotor condition, instructs the speed determination module to set the requested speed to an override speed that is lower than the speed demand. The lost rotor control module identifies the lost rotor condition in response to a comparison of a speed error with an adaptive threshold. The speed error is based on a difference between requested and estimated speeds of the motor. During first and second system states, the adaptive threshold is set to first and second thresholds, respectively.
