  • Publication number: 20120117431
Abstract: A method for error detection includes storing in an associative memory (24, 50, 70) multiple data entries (30), each data entry including a data item (28) together with one or more check symbols (40) computed with respect to the data item. A predetermined sequence of search keys (32) is applied to the memory, thereby causing the memory to generate, in parallel, match results with respect to the data entries. The match results are processed in order to identify an error in at least one of the data entries.

  • Patent number: 8151578
Abstract: A system for cooling computer systems in a room of a data center includes a dehumidification system and an air channeling sub-system. The air channeling sub-system includes a mechanical cooling section that removes heat from the cooling air and an evaporative cooling section downstream from the mechanical cooling section. The dehumidification system may be upstream from the mechanical cooling section and the evaporative cooling section. A controller for the cooling system selectively operates the mechanical cooling section and the evaporative cooling section in an adiabatic mode if a first set of control conditions is met and in a hybrid mode if a second set of control conditions is met.

  • Patent number: 8141374
Abstract: A air channeling sub-system may include a mechanical cooling section and a direct evaporative cooling section. The direct evaporative cooling section may be downstream from the mechanical cooling section. Cooling air is channeled through the air channeling sub-system and into the room. If a first set of control conditions is met, the air channeling sub-systems is operated in an adiabatic mode. The adiabatic mode includes channeling cooling air through the direct evaporative cooling section to evaporate water into the cooling air. If a second set of control conditions is met, the air channeling sub-system is operated in a hybrid mode. The hybrid mode includes channeling cooling air through the mechanical cooling section to remove heat from the cooling air and channeling the cooling air through the direct evaporative cooling section to evaporate water into the cooling air.

  • Patent number: 7987767
Abstract: The invention provides a method for the preparation of a foamed drink comprising the steps of: providing a capsule containing a foamable ingredient; providing a receptacle positioned to collect fluid escaping from the capsule; injecting liquid into the capsule to mix with the foamable ingredient; allowing the foamable ingredient mixed with the liquid to escape from the capsule into the receptacle; followed by injecting further liquid into the receptacle in a jet having a diameter of from about 0.5 to about 2 mm to produce foamed liquid in the receptacle. The invention also provides capsules, apparatus and systems specifically adapted for use in the method. Preferably, the food ingredient is a milk powder, and the method produces a hot foamed beverage such as a cappuccino coffee.

  • Publication number: 20110167030
Abstract: A method for processing data includes encoding a finite automaton, which includes states and transitions between the states that express a plurality of predefined patterns, by grouping the states of the automaton into sets according to a common property shared by the states in each set, and assigning codes to the states according to the grouping. The codes are stored in an electronic memory, along with rules that are associated with the patterns. The automaton is traversed in order to identify one or more of the patterns in an input sequence of data elements by iteratively reading out the codes from the memory responsively to the data elements and to the codes that have been previously read out. Upon identifying a given pattern in the input sequence, an associated action is performed.

  • Publication number: 20080126489
Abstract: A computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer usable program product for managing e-mail messages. Responsive to receiving an e-mail message for a recipient, a determination is made as to whether a condition is present in the e-mail message using a policy associated with the recipient. If the condition is present in the e-mail message, a determination is made as to whether a number of other e-mail messages having the condition exceed a threshold associated with condition. An oldest e-mail message is removed from the number of e-mail messages having the condition in response to a determination that the number of e-mail messages exceeds the threshold.

  • Patent number: 7086001
Abstract: A system of networked computers and peripherals and document delivery software which provides a user with a familiar simple user interface to deliver documents to a variety of different destinations. Each document generation device participating in the system is provided with a unified print driver which translates an electronic document into a non-specific or printer independent printer language file and appends to this file a job ticket containing any other rendering characteristics which may not be supported by the printer independent language. This entire file is then transmitted to the system server which analyzes the file, including the rendering characteristics; determines the best output device(s); appends output device specific commands to the general printer language file; and transmits this file to the device(s) for final output.
