  • Publication number: 20230394529
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for displaying content of a third party to a cellular phone of a patron of premises are shown and described. The premises may be for example a restaurant in which a premises display apparatus which is part of the apparatus system is placed on a table used by the patron. The patron may utilize the premises display apparatus to cause a particular commercial solicitation by the third party to appear on a screen of his or her cellular phone by an initiating action by the patron. The communication may be a commercial transaction completed using the cellular phone. The premises display apparatus selectively enables a generic menu of third party icons, or a home web page of one or more third parties, or another specific web page of any selected third party or via an application to be displayed on the cellular phone.

  • Publication number: 20170251525
Abstract: The invention relates to glazing having a conductive coating having one or more data transmission windows for transmitting data to/from electronic devices in a vehicle, in which a deletion line surrounds the data transmission window. The deletion line defines first and second regions of the conductive coating. The first region comprises an electrically heated region and first and second busbars for supplying electrical power. The second region comprises at least one data transmission window. The second region may be electrically isolated from the second busbar so that the second region cannot be electrically heated.

  • Publication number: 20170051948
Abstract: Solar collector apparatus is described in which solar radiation is collected in a glazed cavity which may also include a transpired solar collector layer. Air warmed in the cavity may be used for space heating within buildings or diverted to heat management systems which facilitate, for example, heat storage. The glazing, particularly coated glazings, improve the performance of the devices by allowing solar energy to enter the cavity and preventing heat loss, and by negating the effect of ambient wind on the transpired solar collector layer.

  • Patent number: 6778779
Abstract: A method of full-duplex electromagnetic communication wherein a pair of data modulation formats are selected for the forward and return data links respectively such that the forward data electro-magnetic beam serves as a carrier for the return data. A method of encoding optical information is used wherein right-hand and left-hand circular polarizations are assigned to optical information to represent binary states. An application for an earth to low earth orbit optical communications system is presented which implements the full-duplex communication and circular polarization keying modulation format.

  • Patent number: 6314215
Abstract: An apparatus and method wherein polarization rotation in alkali vapors or other mediums is used for all-optical switching and digital logic and where the rate of operation is proportional to the amplitude of the pump field. High rates of speed are accomplished by Rabi flopping of the atomic states using a continuously operating monochromatic atomic beam as the pump.
