  • Publication number: 20220288467
Abstract: Golf club heads are provided for selectively increasing or optimizing the coefficient of restitution (COR) at likely impact locations on the striking face of the golf club heads, while simultaneously maintaining characteristic time (CT) below a threshold value in those likely impact locations. By analyzing historical impact locations of a large cross-section of golfers, golf club head COR values can be increased or optimized in preferential locations on the striking face, such as using weighting factors for a predefined set of locations on the striking face. Therefore, instead of increasing COR uniformly across the face and/or increasing COR at impact locations on the face where golfers are unlikely to strike the golf ball, the sweet spot of the golf club head can be increased at the impact locations where golfers typically strike the golf ball.

  • Patent number: 11432961
Abstract: Ophthalmic surgical devices, systems, and methods for automatically controlling the injection or extraction of viscous fluids from a patient's eye are provided. A syringe pump connected with an actuation line and a powered syringe provides pressures for viscous fluid injection or extraction in a vitreous chamber of the eye. A sensor disposed adjacent to or inside the eye determines sensor data relating to an intraocular pressure (IOP). The controller receives the sensor data and regulates the injection or extraction of the viscous fluid in response to the detected IOP, such as by controlling the syringe pump. The controller may determine whether the IOP is above an upper threshold or below a lower threshold and may control the syringe pump to regulate the injection or extraction of viscous fluid to maintain the IOP between the upper and the lower thresholds.

  • Patent number: 11429125
Abstract: A bandgap voltage reference circuit includes first and second transistors (e.g., 3-terminal BJTs or diode-connected BJTs), and a PTAT element (e.g., resistance or capacitance). The first transistor is at a first die location, and operates with a first base-emitter voltage. The second transistor is at a second die location, and operates with a second base-emitter voltage. Each of the first and second transistors may include multiple individual parallel-connected transistors. The PTAT element is operatively coupled to the first and second transistors such that a voltage difference between the first and second base-emitter voltages drops across the PTAT element. The first and second locations are separated by a distance (e.g., 1.5% or more of die length, or such that the respective centroids of the first and second transistor are spaced from one another). Such spatial distribution helps mitigate voltage shift induced by mechanical stress, and is insensitive to process variation.

  • Publication number: 20220268134
Abstract: A sand disposal system is used with a sand management arrangement that handles flow-back of sand and other solid materials in a slurry of flow from well(s) at wellsite(s). The sand disposal system includes a tank filling module that mounts on a disposal tank at a wellsite. The module controls and weighs the disposal of the solid material or sand into the tank by actuating a flap and sensing weight with a weight sensor. The module also monitors the level in the tank to determine when emptying of the tank is needed. A control system can control operations of the module in conjunction with the other processes of the sand management arrangement.

  • Publication number: 20220234767
Abstract: A structural system and a method for joining a launch vehicle and with satellites are disclosed. The method includes generating centerlines of objects requiring a connection for a structure, generating hemispheres about the centerlines, shelling of the hemispheres; performing a finite element analysis (FEA) for verifying the strength of the structure; and increasing or decreasing the thickness of the hemispheres for providing both optimal strength and minimum mass for the structure. The novel design and construction of interconnected hemispheres provide nearly the maximum physical strength for a given amount of material that could otherwise not be accomplished by utilization of a single spherical structure. In addition, the structure permits the construction of modular elements that are readily constructed using generally low-cost, simple, reliable and verifiable methods.

  • Patent number: 11397903
Abstract: Communications over short-range connections are used to facilitate whether access to resources is to be granted. For example, upon device discovery of one of an electronic user device and an electronic client device by the other device over a Bluetooth Low Energy connection, an access-enabling code associated with a user device or account can be evaluated for validity and applicability with respect to one or more particular resource specifications. User identity can be verified by comparing the user against previously obtained biometric information.

  • Publication number: 20220229504
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for detection of a protective cover film on a capacitive touch screen are described. A device may include a capacitive touch screen having a surface and a sensor grid underneath the surface having a set of conductive columns and a set of conductive rows. The device may measure a mutual capacitance between a subset of conductive columns or a subset of conductive rows associated with a sensor grid, and compare the measured mutual capacitance between the subset of conductive columns or the subset of conductive rows to a baseline mutual capacitance associated with the set of conductive columns and the set of conductive rows. According to the comparison, the device may determine a presence of a protective layer in contact with the surface of the capacitive touch screen, and adjust an operating characteristic of the sensor grid.

  • Patent number: 11386398
Abstract: In non-limiting examples of the present disclosure, systems, methods and devices for assigning conference rooms are presented. A meeting request may be received by an electronic meeting service. Meeting fit scores may be calculated for the meeting request and one or more conference rooms. The meeting fit scores may be based on location, capacity, and/or audio-visual capabilities. The meeting request may be assigned to a conference room with a highest meeting fit score. A meeting request may be re-assigned to a different conference room based on a conference room becoming available that has a higher meeting fit score. A meeting request may be re-assigned to a different conference room based on characteristics of the meeting request being modified (e.g., fewer invitees, more invitees, different location specified), and thus, the meeting fit scores for conference rooms changing based on those modifications.

  • Publication number: 20220203184
Abstract: Disclosed golf club heads include a weight channel positioned in the sole and defining a path along the sole. A weight member positioned in the weight channel can be adjusted to any of a range of selectable positions to adjust mass properties of the golf club head. A fastener secures the weight member in any of the selectable positions, while the fastener itself, regardless of where the weight member is positioned along the path, is secured to the body at a fixed location that is independent of the position of the weight member along the path. Part of the weight channel and weight member can be covered by an overhanging portion of the sole, which can form a sit pad. The overhanging portion can be part of a composite sole insert.

  • Patent number: 11369063
Abstract: A conveyor system (4, 5) moves vertical poles (2) in an agricultural facility between a growing area (20) and a workstation (W). Each pole carries plant growing containers (3) at multiple levels (H1-H9). An irrigation reservoir (30) may be mounted atop each pole. Irrigation lines (31-33) from the reservoir may be individually metered (35) at each level to compensate for differing water pressure with height. Sensors (40) in the reservoir and at each level of the poles may provide a controller (36) with data input. The controller may impose different growing conditions in different areas of the facility, including vertically different grow areas (20A, 20B), and controls pole movements and locations selectively to provide a sequence of poles at the workstation ready to harvest on a demand schedule. The workstation may have multiple heights (W1, W2, W3) for tall poles that increase plant density per facility footprint.
