  • Patent number: 7886829
Abstract: A subsea and modular tanker-based hydrocarbon production system comprising a plurality of interlinked individual tank units which is wholly submersible, is wholly detachable from, and wholly re-attachable to, its associated subsea wellhead infrastructure. Modularity of the interlinked tank unit system allows for the processing, measurement, and storage of hydrocarbons from a wide variety of offshore hazard and water-depth related conditions and situations. In addition to being both detachable and re-attachable, the modularity of the system provides for a number of unit systems to be conjoined at surface and towed to market.

  • Patent number: 7708956
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for removing sulfur hydrocarbon compounds from a naphtha stream and for simultaneously removing sulfur hydrocarbon compounds from two streams is described. A separator vessel having a top, a bottom, a primary feed inlet and a co-feed inlet is disposed vertically above the primary feed inlet. The separator vessel further includes a catalyst bed disposed between the co-feed inlet and the top. A primary feed stream comprising sulfur hydrocarbon compounds is delivered through the effluent inlet and a vaporized co-feed stream that also comprises sulfur hydrocarbon compounds is delivered through the co-feed inlet. Vaporized sulfur hydrocarbon compounds from the primary feed stream with the vaporized co-feed stream pass upwardly through the desulfurization catalyst bed. Sulfur hydrocarbon compounds from both primary feed and co-feed stream are at least partially converted to hydrogen sulfide and non-sulfur containing hydrocarbons in the catalyst bed.

  • Patent number: 7650390
Abstract: A system and a method of playing rich internet applications on remote computing devices by using a certifying player to invoke server-side web services through a single, secure, certifying intermediary server. The application player resides in the remote computing device and is configured to be executed by the remote computing device. The intermediary server is configured to communicate with the remote computing device via a network connection and to receive message requests from the application player and to send message responses to the application player. The intermediary server provides access of the RIA to the remote computing device by accessing an application server, where the RIA resides, via a single, secure and access-controlled network connection. The application player requests functionality of the RIA from the intermediary server via message requests and interprets the message responses received from the intermediary server.

  • Publication number: 20050173149
Abstract: In order to provide a flexible oxide superconducting cable which is reduced in AC loss, tape-shaped superconducting wires covered with a stabilizing metal are wound on a flexible former. The superconducting wires are preferably laid on the former at a bending strain of not more than 0.2%. In laying on the former, a number of tape-shaped superconducting wires are laid on a core member in a side-by-side manner, to form a first layer. A prescribed number of tape-shaped superconducting wires are laid on top of the first layer in a side-by-side manner, to form a second layer. The former may be made of a metal, plastic, reinforced plastic, polymer, or a composite and provides flexibility to the superconducting wires and the cable formed therewith. Methods of forming and terminating a triaxial superconductor are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6856953
Abstract: The present invention relates to an algorithm for ensuring compliancy of an algorithm module when integrated in a real time software system. The compliancy tests may include a memory test, interrupt test, latency test and other tests, as well as combinations thereof. An inventive aspect of the present invention relates to a unit test harness for verifying that a software algorithm module meets performance and functional requirements when integrated in a complete real-time software system. A software algorithm module eliminates or reduces unwanted behavior by the caller or other software on a real-time software system due to incorrect operations, which may involve interrupts, memory usage, register usage and/or other factors.

  • Patent number: 6793804
Abstract: An integrated hydrotreating process which produces a high quality feed for the FCC to maintain sulfur in FCC gasoline to a level lower than 30 ppm from a high boiling feedstock and an ultra low sulfur diesel stream preferably less than 10 ppm from a cracked diesel boiling material. The high boiling feedstock is firstly hydrotreated to reduce the concentration of heterogeneous compounds which produces lower boiling hydrocarbonaceous compounds boiling in the diesel range and the resulting hydrotreated high boiling feedstock is separated in a high pressure stripper. The resulting hydrocarbonaceous compounds boiling in the diesel range together with other cracked and/or straight run material in the diesel boiling range are further hydrotreated in an integrated second hydrotreating zone to meet ultra low sulfur diesel specifications and a high cetane index.
