  • Patent number: 12006788
Abstract: A downhole device for applying and regulating pressure to a hydraulic device. The downhole device includes a relief check valve, a pressure transfer check valve, a hydraulic chamber, an output port, and a fluid separator. Pressure from the hydraulic chamber is applied to the hydraulic device to actuate the hydraulic device.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: June 11, 2024
    Assignee: HALLIBURTON ENERGY SERVICES, INC
    Inventor: Ryan David Mair
  • Publication number: 20230250703
Abstract: Provided is a control line, a method for sealing a control line, and a well system including a control line. The control line, in one aspect, includes a control line tubular, the control line tubular having a length (Lt), a width (Wt) and wall thickness (Tt). The control line, in accordance with at least this aspect, further includes a sleeve of expandable metal positioned within the control line tubular, the sleeve of expandable metal comprising a metal configured to expand in response to hydrolysis to seal the control line tubular when contacting a reactive fluid.

  • Patent number: 11346183
Abstract: An actuator assembly of a downhole tool may include a high pressure chamber and a low pressure chamber. A pressure applied from the surface to the tool may enter both chambers. The low pressure chamber may include an inlet that restricts the flow of pressure and prevents the pressure within the low pressure chamber from increasing quickly. The high pressure chamber may also include an inlet that restricts the flow of pressure to prevent the pressure within the high pressure chamber from increasing quickly. The inlet of the high pressure chamber may also include a check valve that prevents pressure from bleeding off from the high pressure chamber through the check valve. The pressure within the high pressure chamber may actuate a piston to actuate the tool in response to the pressure applied from the surface falling within a predetermined pressure and time range.

  • Patent number: 8527541
Abstract: A flat namespace includes a flat identifier. A hierarchical namespace includes containers in some organization. A cache includes associations between flat identifiers, locality reference cues, and containers in the hierarchical namespace. A combiner combines the flat identifier with containers in the hierarchical namespace. The combiner can be used first with containers found in the cache, before trying other containers in the hierarchical namespace.

  • Patent number: 7949682
Abstract: A set of flat identifiers are received, and a locality of reference cue determined. A cache is searched to locate an association including the combination of the set of flat identifiers and the locality of reference cue. If such an association is found in the cache, the hierarchical object(s) associated with that combination are used first in attempting to map the set of flat identifiers onto a hierarchical namespace.
