Patent number: 10499003Abstract: A diversity receiver synchronizes and mixes multiple input signals. In one embodiment, the receiver demodulates the multiple input signals prior to synchronizing, converts the demodulated multiple input signals from analog signals to digital signals, synchronizes the demodulated digital signals, converts the synchronized demodulated digital signals to analog signals and mixes the synchronized demodulated analog signals based on a characteristic of the input signals existing prior to the demodulating.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 2017Date of Patent: December 3, 2019Assignee: Drone Racing League, Inc.Inventors: Lucas J. Tholen, David A. Mitchell, Gregory Keith Anderson

Patent number: 10141996Abstract: A communication system is used to receive information from mobile sources. The system includes a plurality of antennas including multiple disjoint sets of multiple antennas configured to receive signals from the multiple mobile sources. At least a subset of the antennas have coverage areas that overlap with antennas in another set of the multiple disjoint sets of multiple antennas. The communication system also includes multiple receivers and multiple signal paths including one signal path for each set of multiple antennas. Each signal path is configured to provide outputs from a corresponding set of multiple antennas of the multiple disjoint sets of antennas to each of the multiple receivers. Each of the receivers choose to output information from one or more of the signal paths based on one or more characteristics of the signals received from the signal paths.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 2016Date of Patent: November 27, 2018Assignee: DRONE RACING LEAGUE, INC.Inventors: Lucas J. Tholen, David A. Mitchell, Trevor Smith, Ryan Gury, Nicholas Horbaczewski

Patent number: 8453389Abstract: A flashing for sealing around a pipe or conduit includes a dome portion with an opening with an inwardly extending lip, and a replaceable seal sized to fit in the dome opening so as to seal around a vent pipe. The seal includes a downwardly extending locking member to grip and lock the inwardly extending lip of the dome portion. The flashing may include a flange portion to facilitate installing the flashing on a roof. Once installed, the replaceable seal may be replaced without replacing the entire flashing, yet securely grips to the base of the flashing.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 2011Date of Patent: June 4, 2013Inventors: Bruce A. Selke, John A. Turner, David A. Mitchell

Publication number: 20090295485Abstract: A method and apparatus for dynamically biasing a class AB RF power amplifier (PA) over a range of output power levels. A memory 112 holds a table that maps a required output power to the PA from a set of bias point parameters that provide a substantially constant relative power amplifier linearity level for the PA over an output power range of the power amplifier. A bias circuit 104 biases the PA. A processor 106 obtains an output power level from the PA, recalls the bias point table from the memory, maps the power level to the corresponding bias point parameters, and directs the bias circuit to bias the power amplifier in response to the mapped bias point parameters to provide an optimal linearity performance over an operating output power range of the PA.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 27, 2008Publication date: December 3, 2009Applicant: MOTOROLA, INC.Inventor: David A.
