Patent number: 12290658Abstract: A medical connector for use in a fluid pathway. A valve member with sealing rings helps preclude undesired accumulation of fluid within the connector. A branched connector includes a fluid diverter extending away from a port of the branched connector. The fluid diverter is configured to divert fluid flowing through the branched connector and into a medical connector attached thereto, flushing a distal portion of the medical connector.Type: GrantFiled: October 13, 2023Date of Patent: May 6, 2025Assignee: ICU MEDICAL, INC.Inventors: David Nelson, Thomas F. Publication number: 20250114587Abstract: A breakaway medical connector can include a housing with engagement features that interface with corresponding engagement features on a breakaway member so that the breakaway is attached to the housing. A second connector can couple to the breakaway member to provide a fluid connection between the first connector and the second connector. If a force above a threshold is applied that pulls the second connector apart from the breakaway connector, the engagement features can be overcome and the breakaway member can detach from the housing. The second connector can detach from the first connector along with the breakaway member. The connector can have a valve that closes the fluid pathway upon the separation of the breakaway member from the housing. The connector can impede reconnection after the breakaway disconnection. The connector can permit reconnection using a tool that disinfects the connector.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 3, 2024Publication date: April 10, 2025Inventors: Trent Spencer Wells, Erik Scott Shauver, David Nelson, Julie Deane Steigerwald

Patent number: 12233321Abstract: A portable net system for net games is disclosed which provides for rapid assembly, lightweight construction, durability against damage while assembling and playing, and also provides enhancements inherent in the design which allow for improved marketing and advertising during tournaments. The net functions through having a bow-shaped tensioning rod reacting against the net top-tape to provide primary shape, net tension and height control. A vertical post at each distal end is attached to the foldable feet to provide lateral stability, and these are attached to the net via insertion into the net end-band and durably connected via the rigid bow end-connectors. Removable end-panels at each end net termination provides for a self-tensioned surface where advertising and sponsor labels may be attached.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2018Date of Patent: February 25, 2025Inventors: Guy Menzie Houser, Joel Schneider Lippold, Christopher David Nelson, David Lynn Walter, Geoffrey Michael Wod

Patent number: 12206550Abstract: Various embodiments of the present disclosure include a scalable distributed computing and network system that is configured to update multitude of passive devices in many isolated networks. The system may include a centralized update service (CUS) computing device that receives a firmware file, generates a firmware profile, identifies passive devices that include outdated firmware, select one of the identified passive devices as a test device, and send the firmware file to the test device through intermediates and proxy agents. The CUS computing device receives feedback from the test device, generates a trust score for the firmware file based on the received feedback, and determine whether to send the firmware file to the other identified passive devices based on the generated trust score.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 2019Date of Patent: January 21, 2025Assignee: Viakoo, Inc.Inventors: David A. Patent number: 12088144Abstract: A stator for an electric motor is described. An example stator includes a stator core having teeth that are radially arranged about a common central axis of the stator and located in a spaced apart manner from one another. Each tooth has an inward portion and an outward portion. The example stator further includes an electrically transmissive coil of wire that is wound contiguously upon the inward portions of at least a subset of teeth from the plurality of teeth. The stator also includes wedge members that are radially arranged about the common central axis and located intermittently with the plurality of teeth such that each wedge member abuts with the outward portions of adjacently located teeth.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 2023Date of Patent: September 10, 2024Assignee: Tesla, Inc.Inventors: Kalonica Christie, James Murphy, Leif Olsen, David Nelson, Christopher Edwards

Publication number: 20240269452Abstract: A medical connector can include a threaded connection fitting configured to couple to a medical implement by rotation of the medical implement in a tightening direction relative to the threaded connection fitting. The threaded connection fitting can include one or more first engagement features. The connector can have a fluid pathway for transferring fluid through the device and a rotation mechanism. The rotation mechanism permits the threaded connection fitting to rotate in a loosening direction relative to the housing, such as to impede unintended disconnection of the medical implement from the threaded connection fitting. In some cases, the connector can have a disengaged configuration that permits the threaded connection fitting to rotate relative to the housing in the tightening direction and in the loosening direction.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 16, 2023Publication date: August 15, 2024Inventors: Trent Spencer Wells, David Nelson, Erik Scott Shauver

Patent number: 11998018Abstract: A taco shell is produced by applying a plasticizing agent to a base or spine portion of a hard taco shell, such as by targeted spraying, rolling, brushing or dipping of the taco shells, thereby softening the base or spine portion, preferably across a strip width between 4 mm-20 mm. As a result, when the taco shell is bitten, the softened base portion has some hinging flexibility or pliability which reduces the potential for any crack propagation. Therefore, the structural integrity of the hard taco shell can be better maintained while be eaten, resulting in retention of the fillings and less mess. If desired, an anti-migration agent can also be applied to assure containment of the plasticizing agent in the targeted region.Type: GrantFiled: June 4, 2021Date of Patent: June 4, 2024Assignee: General Mills, Inc.Inventors: Christine M.
