    Abstract: Method for mooring a vessel to a dock by at least one cable, wherein a displaceable cable guide is provided on the dock to receive a cable messenger line. When the cable has been guidably drawn to the dock and the end thereof fastened to a mooring post, the cable guide is displaced thereby to free the cable, which can now be tensioned.
