    Abstract: The present invention features, inter alia, methods of treating (a) a patient who has been diagnosed with a hematopoietic cancer or (b) a population of patients who have been diagnosed with a hematopoietic cancer with a fixed dose of tamibarotene or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The tamibarotene is administered daily, for a prescribed number of days, at 8-14 (e.g., 12 mg/day) regardless of the patient's weight or body surface area, and may be administered as the sole therapeutic agent or in combination with one or more of the additional therapeutic agents described herein.

    Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for modifying a television broadcast signal. In one embodiment, the system includes a memory that stores an alternate commercial signal, and a controller that is coupled to the memory and receives the broadcast signal. The broadcast signal includes a program signal and commercial signals. The controller substitutes the alternate commercial signal for one of the commercial signals upon determining that a first condition has been met, for example, upon the sensing two video/audio blank periods in the broadcast signal separated by a predetermined time period. In another embodiment, a broadcast signal including a series of screen signals alternating with a series of blanking signals is embedded, at an upstream location, with additional information relating to alternate commercials or commands during the blanking signals. At a downstream location, a controller processes the additional information and modifies the broadcast signal in response.

    Abstract: A digital data processing system wherein large amounts of digital data are transferred from a source that is coupled to the internal bus of a host CPU to a data receiving device by cooperation between the host CPU and a microprocessor. A multiplexer has one of its input ports coupled to the host bus and its output port coupled by way of what is called a non-real-time bus to one or more devices that may be destinations for large amounts of data and need to be under at least periodic or non-real-time control by the microprocessor. Another bus, called a real-time bus, couples the microprocessor to another input port of the multiplexer. All digital devices that require real-time control by the microprocessor are coupled to the real-time bus. For data transfer, the microprocessor causes the multiplexer to couple the host bus to the non-real-time bus at which time the processor suspends control over the non-real-time devices but maintains control over the devices coupled to the real-time bus.

    Abstract: In a nuclear imaging system the digitized x and y coordinates of gamma ray photon emission events address memory locations corresponding to the coordinates. The respective locations are incremented each time they are addressed so at the end of a selected time or event count period the locations contain digital values or raw data corresponding to the intensity of pixels comprising an image frame. The raw data for a frame is coupled to one input of an arithmetic logic unit (ALU) whose output is coupled to a display controller memory. The output of the controller memory is coupled to another ALU input with a feedback bus and is also coupled to a further signal processing circuit which includes means for converting processed data to analog video signals for television display.
