    Abstract: The power supply voltage is adaptively controlled to increase the efficiency and minimize multi-tone intermodulation distortion of a power amplifier either as a function of amplifier overdrive and/or as a function of the frequency of the input waveform. If the input signal is single-tone, the supply voltage is adaptively changed to increase the efficiency of the amplifier as a function of the amount of amplifier overdrive and/or the frequency of the input waveform. If the input signal is multi-tone, the supply voltage is increased to its maximum to minimize intermodulation distortion.
