  • Patent number: 6563417
Abstract: A method and apparatus for identification and monitoring of, and obtaining data relating to, products moving along a distribution path, including at least one RFID tag mountable to a product, or product carrier, and a plurality of interrogators spaced apart along the distribution path, wherein each interrogator of the plurality of interrogators cooperates in RF communication with the RFID tag when the RFID tag is in proximity to the each interrogator along the distribution path. Each interrogator interrogates the RFID tag during the RF communication so as to obtain unique data, unique to the RFID tag. The RFID tag and each interrogator each includes a transceiver and memory, the memory.

  • Patent number: 4999496
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus for generating a magnification compensation signal for use in a scanning electron microscope. The apparatus includes an electron beam generator that generates a beam at a predetermined energy level in accordance with a beam energy signal. The apparatus allows for refocussing by varying the beam energy signal about a nominal value corresponding to the predetermined energy level. The apparatus also provides a magnification compensator producing a magnification compensation signal that varies in accordance with the variation of the beam energy signal from the predetermined energy level.

  • Patent number: 4302206
Abstract: Apparatus and process for analyzing the nitrogen trichloride concentration in gases containing it utilizing an ultraviolet light source. Unabsorbed filtered light collected from the sample at a wavelength of about 218 nm is compared with a standard at a wavelength of about 260 nm and the resultant is expressed in terms of nitrogen trichloride concentration.

  • Patent number: 3999857
Abstract: A refractive index detector is described comprising a waveguide, means for contacting said waveguide with a fluid, a light source and means to transmit light into said waveguide, means for detecting light exiting from said waveguide as an indication of the refractive index of said fluid and means to automatically change the angle of incidence of the light entering said waveguide in response to changes of refractive index of said fluid. A preferred embodiment of the detector for use as a detector for gradient elution chromatography has means to indicate the rate of change of refractive index. A preferred means to automatically change the angle of incidence of the light entering the waveguide is a movable prism. It is preferred to use a monochromatic light source in the detector. It is preferred to provide reference means for the detector to compensate for changes in intensity of the light output from said light source.
