  • Patent number: 11443593
Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to systems, methods, and devices that enable interactions between a tag having conductive, coded ink and a gaming environment. As an example, a method is disclosed that includes receiving, at a touch-capable user interface, a user gesture provided in combination with a tag having data encoded thereon with an encoded physical medium that is readable by the touch-capable user interface. The method further includes extracting the data encoded on the tag, determining an output to provide based on the extracted data, and causing a user output device of a gaming device to provide the determined output.

  • Publication number: 20220286992
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are presented for synchronising a slave device signal to a reference timebase, in situations where the slave device lacks knowledge of the propagation delay for signals from the reference device, e.g. if the positions of one or both of the devices are unknown or classified, or the inter-device signal propagation distance is otherwise a-priori unknown. Reference signal propagation delay is determined using an exchange of signals between the devices, with each device using a differencing procedure for eliminating effects of receiver line bias and other hardware delays. In another aspect an exchange of signals between the devices is used to detect a time residual arising from an inaccurate propagation delay estimate. The synchronisation methods can be applied to a plurality of slave devices for providing a synchronised location network. In certain embodiments signals are transmitted wirelessly, while in other embodiments they are transmitted via a fixed line.

  • Publication number: 20220268909
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are presented for characterising the environment of a user platform. In certain embodiments RF signals are transmitted and received through an antenna array having a plurality of elements activated in a predetermined sequence, and received signals are manipulated with round-trip path corrections to enhance the gain of the array in one or more directions. Objects in those directions are detected from the receipt of returns of transmitted signals, and the manipulated received signals processed to estimate range to those objects. In other embodiments RF signals transmitted by one or more external transmitters are received and manipulated to enhance the gain of a local antenna array or antenna arrays associated with the one or more transmitters to enhance the gain of the arrays in one or more directions. Objects in those directions are detected from the receipt of reflected signals from the transmitters, and the manipulated received signals processed to estimate range to those objects.

  • Patent number: 11424849
Abstract: Maximizing throughput on a variable bandwidth communication interface is presented herein. A first device, based on information that was received from a second device via a communication link communicatively coupling the first device to the second device, determines a rate of change of data packet loss of first data packets that have been transmitted, based on a first data transmission rate via the communication link, from the first device to the second device; and in response to the rate of change of data packet loss being determined to satisfy a defined condition that is based on a defined state of a group of defined states corresponding to respective data transmission rates comprising the first data transmission rate, modifies the first data transmission rate to obtain a second data transmission rate, and transmits, based on the second data transmission rate, second data packets to the second device.

  • Patent number: 11410486
Abstract: Systems, devices and methods are provided. A gaming device comprises an input device comprising a pressure sensor to detect an amount of pressure applied to the input device by a player of the gaming device, a processor circuit, and a memory comprising machine-readable instructions. Based on the instructions, the processor circuit receives pressure parameter values from the input device, and accesses an emotional state model comprising a plurality of emotional state correlations between a second plurality of pressure parameter values and emotional state data associated with a plurality of emotional states. The processor circuit determines, based on the first plurality of pressure parameter values and the plurality of emotional state correlations, an emotional state of the player, and, based on the emotional state of the player, modifies a user interface element of the gaming device.

  • Patent number: 11282330
Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods for providing multiple simultaneous pressure sensitive inputs for gaming devices include an input device including a plurality of input locations and a pressure sensor to detect, for each input location of the plurality of input locations, an amount of pressure applied to the input device at the input location by a player of the gaming device. A processor circuit receives, from the pressure sensor, a first pressure parameter value corresponding to a first amount of pressure being applied to a first input location of the plurality of input locations by the player, and a second pressure parameter value to a second amount of pressure being applied to a second input location of the plurality of input locations by the player. Based on the first pressure parameter value and the second pressure parameter value, the processor circuit modifies a user interface element of the gaming device.

  • Patent number: 11250663
Abstract: A radio mesh network gaming system comprises a gaming device that includes a controller. The controller maintains a routing table and game state information. The gaming device forms a radio mesh network along with other gaming devices. The routing table stores next hop information for communicating with other devices over the radio mesh network. The radio mesh network determines a playing area of a game and the playing area changes as gaming devices move throughout the playing area and are added or removed from the game. In one example communication between from a first and third device, the first device communicates the information to a second device in accordance with next hop information stored in the routing table of the first device. The second device then communicates the information to the third device in accordance with next hop information stored in a routing table of the second gaming device.
