  • Patent number: 10268098
Abstract: Onboard EC window controllers are described. The controllers are configured in close proximity to the EC window, for example, within the IGU. The controller may be part of a window assembly, which includes an IGU having one or more EC panes, and thus does not have to be matched with the EC window, and installed, in the field. The window controllers described herein have a number of advantages because they are matched to the IGU containing one or more EC devices and their proximity to the EC panes of the window overcomes a number of problems associated with conventional controller configurations.

  • Publication number: 20190107232
Abstract: A method is provided for forming a gasket for sealing opposing flange surfaces of a pipe having corrosive fluid flowing therethrough. The method comprises defining a gasket profile incorporating a serrated profile core having a flange extending radially inward therefrom. A deformable pillow extends radially inward from the serrated profile core, to define a gasket intermediate portion about the flange, and a gasket inner portion radially inward from the flange. The deformable pillow material and thickness are selected such that upon compression to a thickness no less than the core thickness, the gasket inner portion exhibits a stress level sufficient to preclude corrosive liquid flowing through the pipe from passing radially outward beyond the gasket inner portion, and the gasket intermediate portion exhibits a stress level sufficient to preclude gas and liquid flowing through the pipe from passing radially outward beyond the gasket intermediate portion.

  • Patent number: 10240165
Abstract: The invention provides methods and compositions for identifying transgenic seed that contain a transgene of interest, but lack a marker gene. Use of an identification sequence that results in a detectable phenotype increases the efficiency of screening for seed and plants in which transgene sequences not linked to a gene of interest have segregated from the sequence encoding a gene of interest.

  • Patent number: 10209755
Abstract: A system comprises a first domain 4 and second domain 6 which communicate via an interface 8. The first domain 4 transmits power state commands to the second domain 6 for controlling transitions of power states at the second domain 6. The power state commands include at least a power up command 50 for triggering a transition to a power up state and a power no-operation command 52 in response to which the second domain remains in the current one of the power states. The no-operation command 52 enables the second domain 6 to be left in either the power up state or a different power state even if the first domain 4 is powered down.

  • Publication number: 20190037175
Abstract: A secure teleconference with a patient treatment room may be initiated by receiving, at a central facility, a request for a conference from a clinician application, and then identifying a virtual meeting room and sending an identifier for a conference to the treatment room. The conference is then be established by receiving a call at the central facility from the treatment room, where the call identifies the conference. The central facility then joins the treatment room and the clinician application to the virtual meeting room. Teleconferences may thus be established without reference to sensitive patient information. For security, no incoming conferencing calls may be made to the treatment room directly, and virtual meeting rooms may be eliminated after single use. A call may further be initiated by receiving a request from the treatment room, e.g., which is processed by the central facility to alert one or more clinicians.

  • Patent number: 10094201
Abstract: There is described a chemical injection system for a natural gas well. An instrument monitors the production of gas from the well and the flow of chemicals injected into the well. The instrument controls the on and off time of a chemical injection pump that is attached to a chemical injection tank. The control is based for certain chemicals such as a surfactant on the gas flow rate in the production piping. The user of the system inserts in the instrument the setpoints associated with the well's flow rate. These setpoints determine for a given flow rate the on time for the chemical injection pump. Other chemicals can also be injected into the well using the system and the injection for those chemicals may be based on other criteria such as temperature, water rate, oil rate or pipeline flow rate.
