  • Patent number: 7809974
Abstract: A circuit for transitioning clocking speeds, or frequencies, is provided. With this circuit, a clocking circuit providing a first clock signal at a first clock frequency is coupled to a counter. A comparator and a first divider are coupled to an output of the counter. The first divider outputs a second clock signal at a second clock frequency. A second divider is interposed between the clocking circuit and the counter. A processor is coupled to an output of the first divider.

  • Publication number: 20100242628
Abstract: A high-temperature pressure sensor is provided. The sensor includes a quartz substrate with a cavity etched on one side. A reflective coating is deposited on at least a portion of the cavity. The sensor further includes a ferrule section coupled to the quartz substrate with the cavity therebetween. The cavity exists in a vacuum, and cavity gap is formed between the reflective metal coating and a surface of the ferrule. The sensor also includes an optical fiber enclosed by the ferrule section and extending from the cavity gap to an opposing end of the ferrule section and a metal casing surrounding the ferrule section and the quartz substrate with an opening for said optical fiber extending therefrom. The pressure applied to the quartz substrate changes the dimensions of the cavity gap and a reflected signal from the reflective coating is processed as a pressure.

  • Publication number: 20100238299
Abstract: A system and method for remotely monitoring and transmitting optical data for an electronic display to a user. A color light sensor is placed in front of the viewable area of an electronic display and is used to measure various optical properties to determine if the display is functioning properly. The user may be notified when a display is malfunctioning. The display may store optical data locally for later retrieval by the user. The user may access the optical data through a network connection with the display. One or more displays may be placed adjacent to one another and their optical properties may be measured and balanced so that the displays match one another or can be used as a harmonious array. A watermark can be used to confirm that specific video segments were actually displayed by the electronic display.

  • Patent number: 7791712
Abstract: A fiber interface configuration for a chromatic point sensor optical pen is provided wherein a detector aperture element provides an aperture that is smaller than the light-transmitting core diameter of an optical fiber that is connected to the optical pen. The detector aperture element is fixed relative to the chromatically dispersive optics of the optical pen, the optical fiber abuts the aperture element, and the optical fiber core is aligned to the aperture. The aperture element and the end of the fiber may be inclined relative to the axis of the fiber, to deflect spurious reflections away from the optical signal path. The configuration provides high measuring resolution without using a tapered optical fiber, and provides interchangeability of the optical fiber connected to the optical pen.
