  • Publication number: 20220086025
Abstract: A virtual network comprising virtual machines executing at a computing environment is implemented. A floating network interface is attached to a software defined networking (SDN) appliance. The floating network interface is configured to provide a connection to computing resources via a virtual network of a virtual computing environment, and the floating network interface is attachable to and detachable from the SDN appliance. The SDN appliance is configured to apply policies of the virtual computing environment to data traffic on the virtual network.

  • Publication number: 20170331716
Abstract: Securely storing assets in a cloud computer storage service. Preparation to store assets for a user may comprise determining a location to store the assets, generating a write access signature, and sending the determined location and the signature to the user. A request is received from the user to store the assets. Such a request includes the assets, the location, and the signature. In response to receiving the request, a determination is made regarding the write access signature whether the request should be honored. When the request is honored, the assets are stored in the determined location and the write access signature is invalidated. Upon subsequent user requests to access the assets, short-term read access signatures are generated and provided to the user. The assets are written once per generated write access signature and reads are to be performed close in time to when short-term read access signatures are requested.

  • Patent number: 5941988
Abstract: A method of merging two separate TCP connections terminating at a common host and "gluing" them into a single connection between two end systems, where the single connection preserves TCP end-to-end semantics. The technique retains the session setup functions of the transport layer proxy, but provides a method to push the data copying into kernel space to improve the relay operation. More specifically, a byte stream arriving on one end of the split connection is mapped directly into the sequence number space of the other split connection. This process of mapping, or TCP gluing, involves updating a subset of TCP and IP header fields; that is, source and destination addresses, port numbers, sequence numbers and checksum. The changes to the TCP/IP packet headers are on-the-fly as packets are relayed over the glued connection between the original separate TCP connections.
