  • Patent number: 7567293
Abstract: A system and method are described for performing motion capture on a subject using fluorescent lamps. For example, a system according to one embodiment of the invention comprises: a synchronization signal generator to generate one or more synchronization signals; one or more fluorescent lamps configured to strobe on and off responsive to a first one of the one or more synchronization signals, the fluorescent lamps charging phosphorescent makeup, paint or dye applied to a subject for a motion capture session; and a plurality of cameras having shutters strobed synchronously with the strobing of the light source to capture images of the phosphorescent paint, wherein the shutters are open when the light source is off and the shutters are closed when the light source is on.

  • Patent number: 7023680
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, a method is provided whereby the transient voltages presented at the input to a watt-hour meter are suppressed to prevent damage to the watt-hour meter and to the electronic devices that are powered through the watt-hour meter. In addition to transient voltage protection, the method of the present invention also provides monitoring of the earth ground resistance, voltage and current of the earth ground conductor associated with the watt-hour meter. As such, voltage transients are suppressed when presented at the watt-hour meter through the power line input, ground resistance of the earth ground conductor in continuously monitored and the current and voltage conditions existing on the ground conductor are continuously monitored. Visual and audible indicators are provided to indicate quality issues with the grounding system and the effectiveness of the surge suppressor/arrestor.

  • Patent number: 7019711
Abstract: An annular antenna loop is electrically coupled to a transponder. The antenna and the transponder are at least partially embedded into a non-conductive carrier strip to form a ring assembly to render the antenna and transponder package unitarily transportable. The annular assembly affixes to a tire in a post-manufacture attachment procedure and at a location that minimizes exposure of the annular apparatus to strain and to electromagnetic interference from the metallic wheel rim.

  • Publication number: 20040016487
Abstract: Annular apparatus comprises a toroidal body composed of a material having high electromagnetic permeability and the body a through bore; an electrical device coupled to the toroidal body; and a loop antenna disposed to extend through the through bore in direct magnetic coupled relationship with the toroidal body. The loop antenna is in a mechanically de-coupled relationship with the toroidal body and lies substantially in a first plane that intersects the toroidal body opening at a right angle. In one embodiment, the electrical device comprises a transponder for monitoring cavity parameters in a pneumatic tire.
