  • Publication number: 20240368475
Abstract: A heat integration process and system for a chemical recycling facility is provided that can lower the carbon footprint and global warming potential of the facility. More particularly, waste plastic pyrolysis effluent may be used to provide heat energy to liquefied plastics upstream of the pyrolysis reactor by directly contacting the pyrolysis effluent and liquefied plastics. In addition, one or more heat transfer media may be used to recover heat energy from a waste plastic pyrolysis effluent and redistribute the recovered heat energy throughout the chemical recycling facility. Thus, the global warming potential of the chemical recycling facility may be optimized and lowered due to the heat integration process and system herein.

  • Publication number: 20240370296
Abstract: A device may queue a thread for execution by a thread pool, including configuring an ambient context with a cancellation token. Based on a call of a synchronous method by the thread, the device may determine that the thread uses a green threads model and identify the cancellation token from the ambient context. Based on the thread using the green threads model, the device may call an asynchronous method that uses an asynchronous operation to perform a task of the synchronous method, including passing the asynchronous method the cancellation token. Based on identifying a state change of the cancellation token, the device may terminate the asynchronous operation.

  • Publication number: 20240366157
Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems for assisting individuals with communication are provided. In particular, methods, devices, and systems are provided for decoding words and sentences directly from neural activity of an individual. Cortical activity from a region of the brain involved in speech processing is recorded while an individual attempts to say or spell out words. Deep learning computational models are used to detect and classify words from the recorded brain activity. Decoding of speech from brain activity is aided by use of a language model that predicts how likely certain sequences of words are to occur. In addition, decoding of attempted non-speech motor movements from neural activity can be used to further assist communication. This neurotechnology can be used to restore communication to patients who have lost the ability to speak and has the potential to improve autonomy and quality of life.

  • Publication number: 20240371281
Abstract: A method of preventing aircraft from taking off with ground support equipment installed thereon by detecting the presence of ground support equipment installed on an aircraft using geo-fencing software to define a predetermined area or virtual perimeter around in which aircraft may be operating and using an electronic tracking tag with a positioning device to transmit the location of the tracking tag to a satellite and/or land-based receiver. The satellite and land-based receiver are able to transmit location information to a computer system that then generates an alert. The alert is then transmitted to the pilot or other crew member of the aircraft, the control tower and/or ground support crew or any other entity desired. At that point the person(s) receiving the alert are in a position to take remedial action.
