Abstract: A polymer ammunition cartridge that includes a cartridge body extending from the base end and a cartridge nose extending from the body is disclosed. The cartridge nose has a shoulder and a neck that extends to a projectile opening forming a distal end of the cartridge. Defined on the inner surface of the neck at an intermediate position between the shoulder and the projectile opening is an annular shelf. The neck further includes at least one wicking groove formed on the inner surface and extending from the projectile opening to the annular shelf. The wicking groove is configured to receive adhesive after a bullet has been installed into the neck and the annular shelf arrests the flow of adhesive thereby structurally limiting bondage between the neck and a bullet to the longitudinal length of the wicking grooves.

  • Publication number: 20250133016
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for interfaces to manage inter-regional connectivity for direct network peerings. A system may include a connectivity coordinator, a first resource collection in a first geographical zone and a second resource collection in a second geographical zone. The coordinator implements a programmatic interface defining connectivity operations. The coordinator receives a request via the interface to establish a logically isolated network path to the second resource collection on behalf of a client that has a dedicated physical link set up to connect to the first resource collection. In response to the request, the coordinator performs one or more configuration operations to enable traffic to flow from the client's network to the second resource collection over a logically isolated network path using the dedicated physical link.

  • Publication number: 20250131124
Abstract: Mechanisms are provided for customizing an avatar in a virtual environment. A user that is interacting with the virtual environment, and to whom the avatar is to be rendered in the virtual environment, is identified and classified with regard to a plurality of affinity groups specifying levels of affinity between the first user and an operator of the avatar. A user security and privacy policy (USPP) data structure, associated with the operator, is retrieved that specifying security and privacy policies for each affinity group in the plurality of affinity groups. Based on the user classification and the security and privacy policy, an anonymization operation is applied to static and/or dynamic characteristics data for the operator which are used to render the avatar, to thereby generate anonymized characteristic data. The anonymized characteristic data is output for rendering the avatar in the virtual environment.

  • Publication number: 20250131127
Abstract: Implementations of enhancing privacy and anonymity for users of a computer system are provided. For example, selective anonymity for one or more users may be provided in which the one or more users may be anonymous or not, with various degrees of anonymity in between. A “vault” or other information repository may be used to save information (e.g., all information retained, all or a portion of privacy-related or personally-identifiable information) about a user that can be accessed by the user to see, reset, and or delete all or a portion of the information that is saved on the system. Further, “last known location” information may be kept, such that, in some implementations, the last known location (or a limited number of most recent locations) of a user may be kept such that historical information and/or a route of a user is not stored on the system.

  • Publication number: 20250131632
Abstract: A client device selects animations for an AR character by prompting a large language model (LLM) to select from a set of possible animations for the AR character. The client device captures an image of its environment using a camera and identifies objects that are depicted in the image. The client device generates a prompt for an LLM that instructs the LLM to select from a set of candidate actions for an AR character to perform based on the identified objects. The LLM returns a response to the client device and the client device extracts a set of selected actions from the LLM's response. The client device identifies a set of animations that correspond to the actions selected by the LLM and renders AR content that depicts the AR character performing those actions. The client device augments the captured image to include the AR content and displays the augmented image.

  • Publication number: 20250128319
Abstract: Nanolattices exhibit attractive mechanical, energy conversion, and optical properties, but it is challenging to fabricate large nanolattices while maintaining the dense regular nanometre features that enable their properties. In this work, we report a crack-free self-assembly approach for fabricating centimetre-scale nickel nanolattices with a feature size of 100 nm and a grain size of 30 nm. The crack-free areas are 20,000 times larger than prior self-assembled nanolattices and contain 1,000 times the number of unit cells as 3D-printed nanolattices. These nickel nanolattices have a 260 MPa tensile strength, which approaches the theoretical strength limit for porous nickel and is 10 times the strength of prior nanolattices. The self-assembly method and porous metal mechanics reported in this work advances the fabrication and applications of high-strength multifunctional porous materials.

  • Publication number: 20250131640
Abstract: Systems and methods for ray intersection against primitives are described. Primitive data is encoded efficiently into arrays of fixed-size data blocks using a data format which can be directly consumed for ray traversal. Vertex data in a block is pre-quantized and stored using a fixed-bit quantization grid. Mesh connectivity is encoded using a triangle strips based on control values representing triangle interconnectivity, and a compressed index buffer storing indices for vertices in each strip. Primitives can alternatively be quantized to generate primitive packets, that are stored compactly in, with, or near a leaf node of an acceleration structure. Low-precision intersection testers test a ray simultaneously against primitives to find candidate triangles that require full-precision intersection. Primitives that generate an inconclusive result during low-precision testing are retested using full-precision testers to definitively determine ray-triangle hits or misses.
