Abstract: A liquid line purging device includes a self-contained liquid line coupling mechanism and internal check valve system, and may be fitted, for example, to any existing home garden hose or field water supply system. Also, the device has a gas fitting, for receiving purging gas, typically air, which flows into the device, up against the check valve system, and out the liquid line to remove liquid from it. The purging device may be left connected to the hose system, and when used as described, prevents freezing of piping and hoses during sub-freezing weather.
