Publication number: 20250134363Abstract: An endoscope tracker that measures the endoscope's motion using a pair of trackballs and two video cameras is provided. The trackballs measure real-time changes in the scope's position and rotation during an endoscopic procedure. The cameras detect scale lines on the scope's surface to correct accumulated trackball measurement errors. A dual modality tracking method measures the motion of the endoscope's insertion tube in real time, including insertion length, rotation angle, and their velocities. Optical trackballs measure the endoscope insertion tube's motion, and cameras correct cumulative errors. A purely optical endoscope tracker that measures the endoscope's motion is also provided, using video cameras and software that processes the images obtained from the video cameras to determine how the endoscope moves over time.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 25, 2023Publication date: May 1, 2025Inventors: Ian Hamilton Dale Phillips, Qiyin Fang, David Armstrong

Patent number: 11673553Abstract: The invention provides a system (10) for a motor vehicle (100) that receives drive demand information (161S) indicative of an amount of drive demanded of a powertrain (129) of the vehicle (100), and controls an amount of drive torque applied by the powertrain (129) to one or more road wheels (111, 112, 114, 115) in dependence on the drive demand information (116S). The system also receives gradient information (11GS) relating to the driving surface and vehicle speed information (Sv). The control system, in dependence on the gradient and speed information, automatically causes a braking system (12d) to apply brake force to one or more of the wheels (111, 112, 114, 115) to prevent vehicle rollback, and adjusts the amount of brake force applied in dependence on the drive demand information (161S) to cause the amount of brake force applied to increase progressively as the amount of drive demand decreases.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 2017Date of Patent: June 13, 2023Assignee: JAGUAR LAND ROVER LIMITEDInventors: Robert Burford, Charlotte Cooke, David Armstrong
