  • Publication number: 20190153937
Abstract: The present disclosure provides an integrated power generating system and method that combines combustion power generation with solar heating. Specifically, a closed cycle combustion system utilizing a carbon dioxide working fluid can be increased in efficiency by passing at least a portion of a carbon dioxide working fluid through a solar heater prior to passage through a combustor.

  • Publication number: 20180133647
Abstract: The present invention relates to a systems and methods for improved removal of one or more species in a process stream, such as combustion product stream formed in a power production process. The systems and methods particularly can include contacting the process stream with an advanced oxidant and with water.

  • Publication number: 20150013977
Abstract: The present invention relates to systems, apparatuses, and methods for providing a reliable, high purity source of CO2 that is used in the recovery of formation deposits, such as fossil fuels. At least a portion of the fossil fuels recovered may be directly combusted or extracted using the same process used to provide the pure source of CO2 without the need to first remove CO2, sulfur, other fossil fuels, or other impurities.

  • Publication number: 20120059347
Abstract: An apparatus and associated method are provided for controlling the plunging action of a syringe. A plunger control device includes an attachment member adapted to fixedly engage a syringe barrel. A translating member is slideably engaged with the attachment member. The translating member includes an elongate guide member slideably engaged with the attachment member such that the translating member is slideable with respect thereto between a proximal end and a distal end of the elongate guide member. The translating member further includes a plunger attachment portion disposed about the distal end of the elongate guide member and adapted to receive a portion of a syringe plunger for coupling thereto. The translating member further includes an engagement member extending from the proximal end of the elongate guide member so as to be spaced-apart from the syringe barrel when the attachment member is engaged with the syringe barrel.
