  • Patent number: 9801353
Abstract: An apparatus for immobilizing cattle with a horizontally oriented inside ladder and a horizontally oriented outside ladder that is parallel to the inside ladder. The inside ladder is configured to slide laterally relative to the outside ladder. The top rail of the inside ladder is parallel to and spaced apart from the top rail of the outside ladder, and the bottom rail of the inside ladder is parallel to and spaced apart from the bottom rail of the outside ladder. The inside and outside ladders each comprises a plurality of vertically oriented, equally spaced rods that extend from the top rail to the bottom rail. The proximal end of the inside ladder is attached to a hydraulic cylinder that slides the inside ladder laterally relative to the outside ladder.

  • Patent number: 7870830
Abstract: A pontoon with an improved running surface and methods for construction the same are provided. The pontoon comprises an interior concave main running surface formed along the longitudinal centerline of the pontoon which is bounded by two sponsons, which in turn are bounded by two distal concave surfaces, or integrated lifting strakes. The associated methods provide a process for retrofitting prior art pontoons or constructing the pontoon to avoid the need for welds below the waterline of the pontoon. The pontoon provides improved pontoon boat performance by maximizing lift and minimizing leakage. The pontoon also reduces construction costs by lowering the number of welds required to form a pontoon with lifting strakes.

  • Patent number: 7530407
Abstract: A rotary coring device and a method for acquiring a sidewall core from an earth formation adjacent a wellbore are provided. The rotary coring device includes a coring tool having a housing with a core receptacle therein and being adapted for positioning at selected depths within the wellbore. The coring tool further includes a first gear assembly operably coupled to a rotary coring bit. The first gear assembly is configured to rotate the rotary coring bit. The rotary coring device further includes an electrical motor configured to drive the first gear assembly for rotating the rotary coring bit at one of a plurality of rotational speeds. The rotary coring device further includes a hydraulic actuator configured to move the rotary coring bit in a first direction toward the earth formation for obtaining the sidewall core and to move the rotary coring bit in a second direction away from the earth formation.

  • Patent number: 7188576
Abstract: A modular snap-tight interlocking deck and process for constructing a pontoon boat with said deck is described. The modular deck includes lightweight planks that snap together using a tongue-in-groove design. Once joined, the planks are inseparable and form a rigid, flat, watertight surface.

  • Publication number: 20060076162
Abstract: A coring member useful in wellbore excavating operations comprising at least one segment disposed onto the end of a shaft, where a channel is formed between each at least one segment. The at least one segment has an impeller like arrangement that on rotation produces a pressure differential across the face of the coring member. The impeller like arrangement comprises an obliquely attached vane on one side of the face, and an obliquely attached rib on the other side. Rotation of the coring member within a fluid produces a localized high-pressure zone adjacent the face of each rib and a corresponding low-pressure zone adjacent the face of each vane. Each channel provides fluid communication between a vane and a rib, where the vane and the rib are located on different but adjacent segments. The pressure differential between the vane and the rib during rotation of the drill bit within a fluid can produce fluid flow through the channel from the rib to the vane.
