  • Patent number: 11927091
Abstract: A drill bit has a plurality of cutters secured to the bit body, including a gauge cutter defining a gauge diameter of the drill bit. A reciprocating gauge assembly on the bit comprises a cavity defined in the bit body, a piston reciprocably disposed in the cavity, a wear element on an outwardly facing end of the piston, a piston retainer for moveably retaining the piston in the cavity, and a spring biasing the piston outwardly to a neutral position of the wear element with respect to the gauge diameter. The wear element and piston may be urged inwardly in response to an applied load at the drill bit gauge pad, increasing the lateral depth of cut and thereby controlling the aggressiveness of the bit in response to the load.

  • Patent number: 11881598
Abstract: A module for interconnecting electrical components such as batteries, fuel cells, capacitors, and resistors. The module has a body for retaining the electrical components, and terminal bulkheads capable of coupling with the body. The terminal bulkheads have cavities that define fluid reservoirs when the terminal bulkheads are coupled with the body, and gaskets that seal the fluid reservoirs. Electrical contacts of the terminal bulkheads contact the electrical components within the sealed fluid reservoir. The fluid reservoirs are filled with a fluid such that forces applied to the electrical components are dampened, and oxidation of electrical connections is mitigated through displacement of oxygen. The fluid can also be selected to neutralize chemicals that may leak from the electrical components. The electrical contacts can be interconnected with conductor buses such that the electrical components are connected in series, parallel, or a mixture of both.

  • Patent number: 9641951
Abstract: An embodiment in accordance with the present invention provides a system and method for binaural rendering of complex acoustic scenes. The system includes a computing device configured to process a sound recording of the acoustic scene to produce a binaurally rendered scene for the listener. The system also includes a position sensor configured to collect motion and position data for a head of the user and also configured to transmit said motion and position data to the computing device. A sound delivery device is configured to receive the binaurally rendered acoustic scene from the computing device and to transmit the acoustic scene to the ears of the listener. In the system, the computing device is further configured to utilize the motion and position data from the inertial motion sensor to process the sound recording of the acoustic scene with respect to the motion and position of the user's head.

  • Publication number: 20170054202
Abstract: An antenna is disclosed in which the radiating structure includes a meta-material having frequency selective properties. The frequency selective properties of the meta-material enable multiple antennas each designed for operation at separate frequencies and each having such meta-materials to be placed in close proximity without affecting each other. This can be advantageous if for example a large number of antennas are to be placed in a small area such as on a vehicle or small building.
