Abstract: A female electrical connector is provided for receiving a standardized male electrical connector having a movable release tab. The female electrical connector includes an electrical connector body, at least one electrical contact, and at least one lock member. The electrical connector body has an axial cavity configured to receive a male connector. The at least one electrical contact is provided in the cavity. The at least one lock member is carried by the body in load deflecting relation relative to an opposed inner face of the cavity. The at least one lock member is configured to displace relative to the inner face between a loaded position and a released position responsive to a release tab of a male electrical connector applying an overload condition on the at least one tab.

Abstract: A method of providing network services is described. The network includes a number of nodes, each one of which is coupled to at least one other of the nodes by at least one of a number of optical links. The network is preferably capable of supporting a number of virtual circuits. The method begins with the receiving of a request for a virtual circuit between a first node and a second node of the network. Preferably, the request specifies a quality of service of the virtual circuit. Next, the availability of network resources for supporting a virtual circuit at the requested quality of service is determined. Assuming sufficient network resources are available for support of the virtual circuit, the request is then serviced by provisioning (and maintaining) the requested virtual circuit. Servicing the request preferably includes actions such as provisioning, maintaining, and restoring the virtual circuit, using the requested parameters.

Abstract: A heat sink conduit, for use in cooling electronic devices, made of an elongate strip of thermally conductive material that is repeatedly folded onto itself in an accordion, sinusoidal or serpentine like manner. The elongate strip is compressed between a heat producing component and a heat sink. This compression causes each of the two end segments of the elongate strip to be in positive contact with either the heat producing component or the heat sink. This positive contact allows the heat to be conducted away from the heat producing component to the heat sink and the large surface area of the conduit provides for the transfer of heat through convection and radiation, thereby cooling the heat producing component and the electronic device.

Abstract: An entertainment system has a personal computer as the heart of the system with a large screen VGA quality monitor and a radio frequency remote control device. The remote control device has a pointing device and a plurality of keys on top of the device and a trigger-like button mounted on the bottom of the device which functions as a mouse selection button.
