Abstract: A facility for provisioning and managing registered applications is described. Registered applications can be downloaded to a mobile device from an application provisioning server. When the download is complete, the mobile device may begin execution of the registered application. However, at least portions of the registered application cannot be executed by the mobile device without first passing control to an application provisioning server via a network connection. Upon receiving temporary control of the registered application, the application provisioning server can perform tasks such as license verification and other tasks before turning control of the application back to the mobile device.

Abstract: An anodising apparatus for selectively anodizing at least a portion of a surface of a component can include a conformable wicking element configured to absorb a fluid, the conformable wicking element being conformable to at least the portion of the surface of the component, wherein, upon bringing the component into contact with the conformable wicking element, the fluid completes an electric circuit between the component and a conductive element, the anodising apparatus being configured to grow an anodised layer on the portion of the surface of the component that is in contact with the conformable wicking element when an electric current is supplied to the electric circuit between the conductive element and the component.

Abstract: A computer-based electronic gaming system is provided that maintains a persistent game world for one or more users or game players. The game system may provide a game world for a plurality of simultaneous users. Each user may be on a client device, and the gaming system may support a wide variety of simultaneous users and client devices. In one embodiment, the gaming system maintains a persistent game world for at least one user, wherein the game state for a user reconnecting with the gaming system is based on the game state for the user when they disconnected from the gaming system. In another embodiment, the user may reconnect with the gaming system with the exact same game state as when they disconnected previously.

Abstract: A facility for adapting states used with a first version of a game for use with a second version of a game is described. The facility compares the first and second versions of the game to identify dependencies on the state of the second version of the game not shared by the first version of the game. The facility automatically generates a rule to modify states used with the first version of the game to satisfy the identified dependency. For each of one or more states used with the first version of the game, the facility applies the generated rule to the state to adapt the state for use with the second version of the game.

Abstract: An improved jig screen for a centrifugal jig includes a recovery zone and a stratification zone adjacent to one another. The stratification zone is constructed to prohibit outward radial passage of slurry particles while permitting fluid pulsations to be imparted to the slurry during jig screen rotation. The stratification zone axially leads to the recovery zone. The recovery zone has openings permitting passage of particles in the slurry and through which fluid pulsations are directed to the slurry during jig screen rotation. The combination of applying centrifugal force and fluid pulsations to a pre-stratified slurry more effectively separates the heavy particles passing through the recovery zone of the jig screen from the lightweight particles discharged at its exit end.
