    Abstract: A field device is configured to determine whether a device update is to be transmitted to a central server. The field device determines a period of time between an update time and a previous update time and a set of device conditions associated with a user utilization of the field device. The field device utilizes at least one of the period of time and the set of device conditions to determine an update schedule for the field device. The update schedule is determined by the field device utilizing a set of internal criteria that the period of time and the set of device conditions are evaluated against. The field device generates a device update from the set of device conditions and the update schedule and transmits the device update to a central server. The field device, via the device update causes the central server to utilize the update schedule.

During an incident, responsive to the recording device receiving an input to capture a detail frame of an object of interest, the recording device determines a detail boundary to capture a detail frame having increased pixel density and reduced field of view. Image data may be processed by an image processing module via a single configuration for video capture and detail frame capture.

    Abstract: A session management server is configured to establish, maintain, and manage one or more communication sessions between one or more field devices and one or more remote devices. A communication session request received by the session management server causes the session management server to determine whether the communication session is to be established. The session management server identifies a field device targeted by the communication session request. The session management server determines whether the field device is available for the communication session based at least on a field device state. Upon the communication session being established, the field device and/or the session management server causes an amount of scene data generated by the field device to be preserved independent from an amount of communication data exchanged via the communication session.
