  • Publication number: 20240094476
Abstract: Technologies for pluggable optical connectors are disclosed. In the illustrative embodiment, an optical plug includes a ferrule with one or more optical fibers. The optical plug also includes a ferrule holder that holds the ferrule and a housing that encloses the ferrule and ferrule holder. The ferrule holder can move relative to the house, and the ferrule can move relative to the ferrule holder and the housing. As the optical plug is plugged into a socket, alignment features in the housing coarsely align the ferrule. Intermediate alignment features in the ferrule holder then engage, aligning the ferrule more precisely. As the optical plug is fully plugged in, fine alignment features in the ferrule engage, precisely aligning the ferrule and the optical fibers with the optical socket.

  • Patent number: 11918302
Abstract: An interactive control unit is disclosed. The interactive control unit includes an interactive touchscreen display, an interface configured to couple the control unit to a surgical hub, a processor, and a memory coupled to the processor. The memory stores instructions executable by the processor to receive input commands from the interactive touchscreen display located inside a sterile field and transmit the input commands to the surgical hub to control devices coupled to the surgical hub located outside the sterile field.

  • Publication number: 20110158370
Abstract: Disclosed is an offshore fixed, moored, or mobile energy carrier production plant. The plant's energy source for the energy intensive processes of producing an energy carrier is nuclear in nature and the resulting energy carriers of the plant range from hydrogen to hydrocarbons such as methanol and jet fuel. The offshore energy carrier production plant will be able to produce energy carriers at a reduced cost, increased sustainability and scalability, increased safety, and with fewer environmental and social impacts than heretofore possible. The resulting energy carrier products can then be transported by marine vessels, pipelines, and other transportation means or any combination of transportation means thereof to be distributed to end use energy carrier consuming devices and products such as fuel cell applications in a variety of industries as well as internal combustion engines.

  • Patent number: 4270868
Abstract: Disclosed is a digital escapement control system in which the motor (DC) control is completely digital requiring no tachometer generation of feed back signal nor any analog to digital convertors. Connected to the DC motor shaft is a code wheel and detector to determine the time between discreet positions of the motor shaft as it rotates. The time between discreet positions is then compared with a desired time, and the difference is stored, as by a register. The difference is then converted to a pulse-width-modulated (PWM) signal which directly controls the rotational velocity of the motor, increasing or decreasing it as necessary. The system operates, in a ramp, open loop start up mode and digital velocity controlled braking mode while in the motional mode with the feed back as described above. At start up, provision is made for inserting the feed back loop when the velocity reaches some predetermined level or percentage of the desired velocity.
