  • Patent number: 11937037
Abstract: A housing has a bud portion abutting an elongated stem portion. The bud portion is to fit within an ear. The bud portion has a primary sound outlet at its far end that is to be inserted into an outer ear canal, and abuts the stem portion at its near end. A speaker driver is inside the bud portion. Electronic circuitry inside the housing includes a wireless communications interface to receive audio content over-the-air and in response provides an audio signal to the speaker driver. A rechargeable battery as a power source for the electronic circuitry is located inside a cavity of the stem portion. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.

  • Publication number: 20230000501
Abstract: A surgical viewing system including an X-ray source, a surgical tool and an actuator. The X-ray source creates a beam of radiation used in an image creating process. The surgical tool has the X-ray source coupled thereto, and the surgical tool has an axis of rotation. The actuator is coupled to the surgical tool causing the beam of radiation to be shifted relative to the axis of rotation.

  • Patent number: 9782183
Abstract: A surgical viewing system including an X-ray source, a screw placing surgical tool, a detector, a fiducial marker, and an image correction system. The X-ray source creates a beam of radiation, and the surgical tool is coupled thereto. The X-ray detector detects an image, the detected image resulting from receiving a portion of the radiation. There is at least one fiducial marker coupled to a part of the surgical tool, the fiducial marker being radiopaque and blocking a portion of the beam of radiation from the detector to produce a profile on the detected image. The surgical tool has an axis of rotation and the fiducial marker is axially symmetric to the axis of rotation. The image correction system takes the detected image and produces a corrected image by using a shape of the profile of the fiducial marker and/or a location of the profile of the fiducial marker.

  • Publication number: 20160030062
Abstract: A drill guide system is provided having a source for x-ray radiation along with a receiver to generate a visible image of the radiation. A bone with medical device or implant is located between the source and receiver. A drill with a passage transmits x-ray radiation from the source through a drill bit that then passes through the bone and implant. The source of the x-ray radiation is offset from the drilling axis and a system is used to combine multiple or varying images to reduce an occluded area generated by the drill bit. The user guides the drill bit using an image on the receiver. When the user lines up the drill with a hole in the nail, the alignment is visible on the receiver.

  • Patent number: 7371601
Abstract: A technique for manufacturing a piezoresistive sensing structure includes a number of process steps. Initially, a piezoresistive element is implanted into a first side of an assembly that includes a semiconductor material. A passivation layer is then formed on the first side of the assembly over the element. The passivation layer is then removed from selected areas on the first side of the assembly. A first mask is then provided on the passivation layer in a desired pattern. A beam, which includes the element, is then formed in the assembly over at least a portion of the assembly that is to provide a cavity. The passivation layer provides a second mask, in the formation of the beam, that determines a width of the formed beam.

  • Patent number: 7026645
Abstract: The present invention involves an electrical verification method that detects moisture within the cavity of the semiconductor or micro-machined device. The method affects an increase in the time for sufficient water vapor to remain within an unsealed device, so that instability in the diode can be measurable over a longer period of time. The method begins with the step of forming at least one reservoir on at least one of the device wafer and the capping wafer. The at least one reservoir connects to at least one diffusion channel, which is in communication with at least one reservoir port. The method further includes the steps of forming a PN junction diode adjacent to the at least one reservoir port; bonding the device wafer with the capping wafer to form a cavity; and electrically testing the PN junction diode as an indication of the presence of moisture within the cavity.

  • Patent number: 5177331
Abstract: An impact detector includes a center chip of micromachined silicon, a top cap, and a back plate, with the center chip being sandwiched between the top cap and the back plate. The center chip is micromachined to provide a seismic mass, a perimeter ring, and a plurality of beams interconnecting the perimeter ring and the seismic mass. The center chip and back plate mount aligned switch contacts which close to each other when the seismic mass moves from its static or nondisplaced position to its operative or displaced position. An electrostatic attractive force is generated between the seismic mass and the back plate.
