Abstract: A system and method for an automatic drawing comparison are disclosed. A batch capture processing module captures a plurality of pairs of drawing picture frames, and a drawing normalization module normalizes the pairs of drawing picture frames of the plurality to establish pairs of normalized drawing picture frames. A drawing comparison module compares each drawing picture frame of each of the respective pairs to generate respective drawing comparisons thereof, and a statistical data generator module communicates a statistical report identifying which of the respective drawing comparisons are recommended and not recommended for review.

The scrubbed file is converted to a vector file in which the reusable base graphic is embedded. One or more vector layers are added to the vector file to produce the intelligent vector-layered file. Each vector layer includes vector elements corresponding to one of the recognized reference labels and its one or more reference lines.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for converting a network drawing from raster format to vector format. The method involves recognizing text within a raster image by using optical character recognition and a character set associated with the raster image. The recognized text is extracted from the raster image to produce a text-only raster image and a text-stripped raster image. The method further includes recognizing graphic objects within the text-stripped raster image by using pattern recognition with image-specific parameters to identify graphic objects. Recognized graphic objects are represented with vector graphical primitives to produce a text-stripped vector image. Vector text elements corresponding to the extracted text are added into the text-stripped vector image to produce a vector image that is substantially identical in appearance to the raster image.

Abstract: A method, computer program product, and system for creating and viewing an intelligent graphics file including information associated with the parts depicted in the graphics file are provided. Graphics is automatically transformed into a format that provides enriched electronic display of the graphic containing reference designation links and access to information associated with the parts depicted in the graphic. Relationships among the reference designations and the ability to access textual information associated with the reference designations of the parts are embedded in the graphic. The part and the corresponding textual information when the reference designator associated with the part is selected is automatically displayed. An intelligent graphics file that allows a user to quickly and accurately find, view and navigate among the parts of an article depicted in a graphic and the corresponding textual information for the parts is automatically produced.
