    Abstract: An electrical terminal (10) having an electrical contact (18) and a crimp barrel (20) configured to be crimped around an end of a wire. The crimp barrel (20) includes a base (22) and opposing side walls (24) that define an opening (25) of the crimp barrel (20). The side walls (24) extend outwardly from the base (22) to ends (50) and include base segments (52) and end segments (54). A sealing wing (56) extends from the end of at least one of the side walls (24). The side walls (24) are configured to be folded over the wire when crimped such that a gap is defined between the end segment (54) and the base segment (52) of at least one of the side walls (24). The sealing wing (56) is configured to extend within the gap between the end segment (54) and the base segment (52) when the side walls (24) are crimped over the end of the wire.

    Abstract: A tool for crimping a terminal to an end of an electrical conductor has a movable fulcrum which reduces hand force required to operate the crimping tool. The tool includes main body having a handle end and a first jaw disposed remote from the handle end. A second jaw is pivotally connected to the main body between the handle end and the first jaw. The a second jaw cooperates with the first jaw to perform the crimping as the second jaw is pivoted toward the first jaw. A movable handle is operably connected to the second jaw to pivot the second jaw toward the first jaw. A driver link has a first end pivotally connected to the main body, and a second end of the driver link has a slidable connection with the movable handle. The slidable connection includes a pivot pin which is slidable in a slot defined in the movable handle.

    Abstract: An ECL transient driver discharges a capacitive load at the output of an emitter follower with a pulse whose amplitude and duration is determined by the charge on the load. A pull-up transistor is coupled to an output terminal for selectively supplying a voltage thereto in response to a first signal from a logic circuit. A pull-down transistor is coupled to the output terminal for selectively sinking a current therefrom in response to a second signal. A comparator circuit is coupled to the pull-down transistor, the logic circuit, and the output terminal, for selectively providing the second signal in response to the first signal and an output voltage on the output terminal.

    Abstract: Crimping apparatus for butt splicing two optical fibers in a connector requiring application of both radial and axial force comprises a frame, a workstation for holding the connector, a pair of radial die sets, and a pair of axial die sets. A disk journaled to the frame beneath the workstation has an integral ring-like member connected to respective die sets by four toggle links at ninety degree intervals. Rotating the disk causes the die sets to converge on a connector at the workstation.
