  • Publication number: 20170082469
Abstract: A system includes a control system and a field device. The control system is configured to communicate data with the field device. The field device determines whether a deviation in a measurement accuracy of a first characteristic curve for a flow profile of a process fluid is detected while monitoring an inline condition of the process fluid. The field device determines whether the deviation is greater than an application tolerance. The field device also performs an inline recalculation for a new characteristic curve according to present flow condition detected in measurements of the flow profile when the deviation is greater than the application tolerance. The field device calculates a flow rate of the process fluid using the new characteristic curve.

Abstract: A system includes a control system and a field device. The control system is configured to communicate data with the field device. The field device determines a baseline calibration and a characteristic curve for a process fluid flowing through the field device. The field device monitors an inline condition of the process fluid. The field device determine whether a deviation in a measurement accuracy for a fluid profile is detected according to inline evaluation criteria. The field device calculates a flow rate of the process fluid using a last valid characteristic curve.

  • Patent number: 9453749
Abstract: A hybrid ultrasonic flowmeter includes at least a first sensing plane including four ultrasonic transducers (transducers) positioned in a parallelogram arrangement on a meter pipe wall including a first and second transducer pair. A first reflector is positioned between the first transducer pair on a first portion of the meter pipe wall, and a second ultrasonic reflector is between the second transducer pair on a second portion of the meter pipe wall opposite the first wall portion. The transducers have assembly angles and emission patterns for emitting ultrasonic beams to provide a plurality of direct measurement paths and a plurality of reflective paths involving a first reflective path involving the first ultrasonic reflector and a second reflective path involving the second ultrasonic reflector. A flow electronics module including a transceiver causes the transducers to transmit ultrasonic signals and processes sensing signals generated by the transducers for determining a volume flow.

  • Publication number: 20080077584
Abstract: A method for deleting entries from a directory in which directory information is stored in a set of database tables begins upon a request to delete a directory entry. In response, the directory entry is tagged, preferably by setting the entry's creation time to a null value. If a search query is received thereafter, the routine excludes tagged entries from search results that would otherwise satisfy the search query. Periodically, the routine searches for tagged entries, and references to the tagged entries are then deleted throughout the set of database tables. Thus, the inventive method defers entry deletions to enable directory queries to be processed even if deleted entries have not yet been fully expunged from the directory.

  • Publication number: 20060056618
Abstract: Enabling automated provisioning on a data processing network includes providing the network with access to an automated provisioning controller. The controller enables a user to specify resource allocation priorities and uses the user-specified priorities, in conjunction with a resource stabilization policy, to resolve conflicting resource requests. The resource allocation priorities include priorities for demand-based resource requests and maintenance-based resource requests. The stabilization policy includes a policy for constraining allocation of a resource based on forecasted demand and a policy for constraining allocation of a resource based on a scheduled maintenance task.

  • Publication number: 20060047813
Abstract: A method and software for fulfilling a resource request in a data processing network includes specifying characteristics of the requested resource responsive to detecting the resource request. A set of attributes is then derived from the specified characteristics. The specified characteristics indicate broad or general properties of the needed resource while the derived attributes preferably indicate the hardware and software components of a resource ideally suited to fulfill the resource request. Attribute information associated an available resource is then evaluated against the attributes derived from the specified characteristics. An available resource is then selected, based on the evaluation, to satisfy the resource request. The attributes of the selected resource best match the attributes derived from the specified characteristics.
