Patent number: 10963864Abstract: The present invention is directed to a smartcard that enables a one-time pin code offline security authentication with a card reader. This is achieved by generating a one-time pin code when the user inputs their pin code. The inputted pin code is encrypted and matched with the encrypted user correct pin code. If there is a match the one-time pin code is stored in memory and the transaction can proceed.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 2012Date of Patent: March 30, 2021Assignee: SCRAMCARD HOLDINGS (HONG KONG) LIMITEDInventors: David Ball, Simon Hewitt

Publication number: 20060021216Abstract: A connector axial compression tool having a lever end and a cable end, with a body slidably supporting a cradle in a cavity formed in the body. The cradle is slidable via a handle which pivots about the body, linked to the cradle by a lever mechanism. The cradle has a shoulder clamp adapted to mate with a connector body. Operation of the handle moves the cradle towards and away from a cable end of the cavity, against a cable clamp through which the cable may pass but against which a cable clamp sleeve of the connector abuts, axially compressing the connector to couple it to the cable. Because the shoulder clamp holds the connector body rather than pressing against the connector interface, a wide range of different connectors may be used with the same tool, without causing damage to the connector interface of the various connectors.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 30, 2004Publication date: February 2, 2006Applicant: ANDREW CORPORATIONInventors: Nahid Islam, Joon Lee, David Ball

Publication number: 20050135256Abstract: A partial best path technique distributes route selection in a routing protocol implementation on a router. The technique also ensures that announced paths received from peers of the router (i.e., a “load”) are compared in a correct order to select best paths that are then used by the router to forward packets and to advertise to the peers. When employed in a distributed architecture, the technique further reduces memory usage. To that end, the partial best path technique enhances a best path selection algorithm executed by the router to enable dispersion of the received path load among processing nodes or elements of the router, while maintaining the ordering requirement of the algorithm. The partial best path technique essentially provides an enhancement to the best path selection algorithm that selects a subset of paths from a plurality of paths, with that subset being the minimal subset needed to select the best paths.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 23, 2003Publication date: June 23, 2005Inventors: David Ball, R. Bennett, Martin Hesketh, John Scudder, David Ward

Publication number: 20050074003Abstract: A distributed software architecture implements a routing protocol as a set of processes running on a set of processors of a router. The distributed processes cooperate in a manner that internally exploits the distributed set of processors, yet externally presents an appearance/behavior of a single routing protocol process communicating with its peers in the network. The distributed nature of the architecture is achieved without altering the fundamental routing protocol, but by apportioning certain functions/tasks of the protocol among various processes in the multiprocessor router.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 2, 2003Publication date: April 7, 2005Inventors: David Ball, R. Bennett, Martin Hesketh, John Scudder, David Ward

Publication number: 20050063366Abstract: In a telephone network, an intelligent peripheral (IP) provides a variety of auxiliary call processing functions, such as announcement playback and digit collection. In response to each call, the IP queries a service control point (SCP) over a data network, for instructions as to processing of the call. The IP runs software to select one SCP for control of each call, from a number of SCPs on the data network, and obtain the requisite instructions for the call from the identified SCP. For each call, the IP software identifies the telephone number of the subscriber and uses the NPA-NXX and D digits from that number to access a first mapping table and obtain a CLLI code identifying an SCP. Using the CLLI code from the first table, the IP software accesses a second mapping table to obtain the CLLI code for the mate to the identified SCP. Using the two CLLI codes, the IP also goes through the second cable to obtain all of the Internet Protocol addresses for the two SCPs.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 13, 2004Publication date: March 24, 2005Inventors: David Wheeler, David Ball
